In the regular market hours, the NY Slimes, NYT, avoided a loss which is a rarity.
However, after they announced this reality, their market value has lost over 4% in after hours trading.

I stole, er, borrowed this from Dead yesterday afternoon. Little did I realize how true this would be today.

Pinch Sulzberger can now relate to how the Captain of the Titanic felt when his ship lurched from the impact of hitting an iceberg in the frigid waters of the mid-Atlantic.

This is just the latest. Their 2 year stock chart looks like a ski slope.

It must be something else to lose close to 5% after closing time on the market.

Craigslist caught on faster than CD's or DVD's. I buy and sell a ton of stuff there and haven't cracked a paper in years.
I see newspapers as "quaint". And they really can't afford to pay reporters with any experience or expertise. If it were not for spell checker they would REALLY look bad.

yayyyyyyy!
I have answered calls in the last 2 weeks from both the Boston Glob and the NYSlimes offering me almost completely free weekday AND Sunday delivery.
They were incensed when I refused their almost free offers.
They were even more incensed when I told them I don't countenence liars and thieves.
Yesterday I received an offer via mail from the NYSlimes also offering an incredibly cheap deal for delivery. I happily wrote invectives on the return slip and sent it back to them so they would have to pay the postage. Made my day.
