More than 200.000 Albanians may be expelled from Switzerland if the country endorses the new immigration law, Tirana's dailies said.
Media in Tirana say the associations of Kosovo Albanians in Switzerland are deeply concerned amid initiatives on tougher immigration and asylum laws.
If the Swiss vote for the law on aliens and refugees, at least 200.000 Albanians from Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania may be forced out of the country.
Kosovo Albanian associations in Switzerland called on roughly 20.000 Albanians who had acquired Swiss citizenship to oppose the revised asylum law.
Several leftist parties and NGOs remained adamantly opposed to the draft-law, arguing that the law breaches human rights.
Swiss government reckons that current situation in the 21st century requires new regulations concerning aliens. The current law on foreign nationals entered into effect 70 years ago.

How many were allowed to emigrate because of the Balkan War? It's over, they can all go home now.
Great idea...just send them back to Albania.
The Swiss are just the kind to boot people out. I'll be watch to see them actually do it and how they do it. Are most of these "Albanians", Muslims?
The Swiss seem to be adept at seeing the writing on the wall and acting on it.
Dude, you're getting expelled!
The Swiss have survived for centuries despite being surrounded by power full empires and nations. They survived because they were realistic and smart.
Yup.
Yes Albania was invaded by the Ottoman Turks and most Albanians are Muslims.
This is just the beginning. I expect France will be next followed by Germany. The Euros are getting fed up.
Swiss are openly for succeeding Kosovo from motherland, in order to make som kind of "reservation" for all those expelled Muslims.
Oh, Switzerland is wowing for independant kosovo... Well, it is realy long shot, but I would sent demarsche in which I would state "Admitt that Kosovo is integral part of Serbia within next 7 days, or we will declare war against Swiss"
Now, dont laugh, just imagine, who, who in th eworld would give monney for safekeeping to caountry that Serbs declared war to? hehehehehe
I would like to know how they can afford to live in Schweiss. I only spent 8 hours in Geneve before catching the train back to Madrid with my tail between my legs. Gee.
I have a hard time believing that one. I talk to Germans a lot they are so dam liberal. One told me she couldnt wait to see how Muslims will work there way into German society.
I will believe it when I see it.
That makes sense where every family has at least one gun. And if they blow up the rail tunnels, an army will have to climb big mountain ranges before getting to first base.
This is very significant. perhaps the Europeans have had it with "immigrants".
This is a real good development.
The news that I want to hear is that the USA is expelling all the proponents of the ideology of death and destruction.
According to my 2004 Time Almanac, Switzerland had a population of approx. 7.3 million. Deporting 200,000 Albanians would be a BIG job, equivalent to the U.S. (with 300 million inhabitants) deporting 8.2 million illegals.
My point: If the Swiss can do that, why couldn't we?
Another small European country, Sweden, just had its general elections. As has been reported previously the socialists were ousted after 12 years, and a liberal/conservative alliance won.
However, there was also a relative good result for the anti-immigration party the Swedish Democrats. They did not win a parliamentary seat, but they got quite close, and in southern Sweden (Malmo, Landskrona etc) they had a very good showing, particularly in the local elections that were decided at the same time. In Landskrona the SD won 23% of the popular vote. The political and cultural "elite" in Sweden is shocked....stunned and shocked!
Maybe something is happening in Europe.....
Aw jeez, we don't have Clinton in power now to bomb the Swiss for ethnic cleansing.
Thanks for the interesting "boots on the ground" perspective. Switzerland seems to be the last bastion of common sense in Europe at this point!
