COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) A car dealership's tongue-in-cheek radio advertisement declaring ``a jihad on the automotive market,'' will not be changed, the company said, despite drawing sharp criticism that the ad's content is offensive.
Several stations rejected the spot from Dennis Mitsubishi, which boasts that sales representatives wearing ``burqas'' head-to-toe traditional dress for Islamic women will sell vehicles that can ``comfortably seat 12 jihadists in the back.''
The Columbus chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations decried the ad as disrespectful.
``Using that as a promotional pitch when so many are dying from the criminal activity of suicide bombers, that's not funny,'' chapter president Asma Mobin-Uddin said. ``I don't think it's appropriate when it causes real pain. It exploits or promotes misunderstanding in terms already misunderstood or misused.''
In the ad, Keith Dennis of Dennis Mitsubishi talks about a ``launching a jihad on the automotive market.''
The ads will begin airing next week, dealership general manager Aaron Masterson said, although it was unclear whether any radio stations had accepted the spot. A message was left seeking additional comment at Dennis Mitsubishi on Saturday.

"The Columbus chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations decried the ad as disrespectful." They know that real jihadists prefer airplanes.

To: jdm
If CAIR policed belt bombers as much as they try to stifle criticism of jihadists, the world would be better off.

I've wondered if Toyota couldn't make a killing advertising their four-wheel-drive pickups by noting that warlords and terrorists love the things.
Here's a picture of a typical Taliban truck, which has been captured by Northern Alliance troops shown in the picture:

Our own special forces troops in North Africa also use Toyota trucks with machine guns mounted in the back, I believe.

I like it. I think it's funny and satirical. It's certainly no worse than Rush's "Club Gitmo" material, and the word
jihad needs to be used more in our daily discourse, IMO. If you can "clobber" high prices in ads, you may as well be able to declare a jihad on high prices as well.
People need to know that a jihad on high prices means that those prices are going to have to come down, or be decapitated.

Declaring Jihad on high prices-well, like it or not, if the point of advertising is to get your name out there-I think they've hit a home run.
BTW, I see actors portraying Catholic Priest and Nuns in ads, and I don't remember any brouhaha over that.

The time will soon come when most if not all real Americans of all faiths, or no faith at all will start wearing a small cross on all our clothing and dare the foreign heathens to claim disrespect.
What are the PC politicians gonna do? Arrest us all? for "disrespect"?

The Columbus chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations decried the ad as disrespectful. Whine, whine, whine! You can tell they're liberals by the frequency of their whine. Muslims are the worst. I've never seen anything like it. If they don't like the way we do things in America, go back to your own country, and leave ours alone.

The Muzzies should be happy. They're always claiming that jihad means much more than killing people. The dealer is helping them prove their case.

In Afghanistan Toyota is definitely the 800 pound gorilla. They must have 80 percent of the market. I've never seen so many Land Cruisers in my life. Even our own forces use them.

"Asma Mobin-Uddin said. ``I don't think it's appropriate when it causes real pain. It exploits or promotes misunderstanding in terms already misunderstood or misused.'' Bull. It's not "misunderstood" and "misused". Jihad is fighting (war) for "allah's' cause. It's done by Muslims for the purpose of spreading Islam, no matter how bloody or what the cost.
What he's really bothered with is that it is a truthful display of one of Islam's most important pillars, which ALL muslims are bound to uphold and participate in.

"The time will soon come when most if not all real Americans of all faiths, or no faith at all will start wearing a small cross on all our clothing and dare the foreign heathens to claim disrespect." That happened to one of my son's a while back. He was wearing his cross as usual, hanging out in a bar with his friends. Some muzzie can up to him and tried to tear it off his chain, saying it "offended" him.
Needless to say, the muzzie got what he deserved.

Makes me think of the movie, "Used Cars"....
And the skit on the other car dealers lot on a TV ad..
"That price is TOOOO fricken HIGH, then he shoots(with a shotgun) out the headlight and lowers the price.."
Extremely funny.. Actually that movie is or should be a classic.. Any thats not seen it, should rent it.. One of the first movies by Kurt Russel..
