National City was the scene of a fight over illegal immigration Saturday.

Critics of mayor Nick Inzunza are upset with what they see as a plan to declare National City a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

Saturday, local minuteman clashed with Inzunza's supporters.

On one side of the street there was a minuteman rally. On the other side were migrant suporters. In the middle were 130 officers who were called in to keep the peace, and law enforcement needed every one of them.

From the 9/11 Commission Report staff monograph...

262 The SAW applicants had to provide evidence that they had worked on perishable crops for at least “90 days” between May 1, 1985, and May 1, 1986; their residence did not have to be “continuous” or “unlawful.” Nearly 1 million illegal aliens had received legal permanent residence under SAW, twice the number of foreigners normally employed in agriculture.

I was born in National City. I have no desire to ever return there. Proud to be a Texan by choice.

Thanks for the great pictures. I recognize just about every building in the background of your photos. I've been following this story in SD U-T.WTF is InZunza thinking?

Which side were the clowns on?

I've been living in the South Bay for the past 30 years & I'm not giving up on the thought that this is still part of the United States.

"Will it take another 9/11 to secure our borders?"

If Bush refused to secure the borders on 9/12, what makes anyone think that another attack will make a difference? Far too many in D.C. have an agenda. A secured border is in OPPOSITION to that agenda and will never happen unless or until the Americans demand it be done or, literally, do it themselves. That would take vast numbers. But, action taken in great numbers that is in opposition to the current D.C. agenda, pits those Americans against both the D.C. leaderships AND 35 million illegals, and so might result in something more from our government than simply being duped 'vigilantes'. I believe 'the day' is coming very quickly when Americans must decide.

That was the turning point for many American conservatives, the point when the truth hit us square in the face - George W. Bush does not have America's interests at heart. History will not be kind to him.
