All the wag the dog references in the 90's had nothing to do with bin Laden, but had everything to do with Serbia and Milosevic, as far as my meager memory serves. I may be wrong, and I may be unaware of statements to the contrary but as far as I can remember, all those references were regarding Milosevic and Serbia.Excellent memory, and strange that nobody on the show recalled that. Perhaps you should e-mail Chris Wallace and point it out.

I vote for the "is lying" part. He's doing his best to confuse the public about the REAL history of what went on. Trying to preserve what little legacy he's got left!

the 9/11 commission report...both state that he didn't do squat
From the Report....
President Clinton, in a February 2002 speech to the Long Island Association, said that the United States did not accept a Sudanese offer and take Bin Ladin because there was no indictment. President Clinton speech to the Long Island Association, Feb. 15, 2002 (videotape of speech). But the President told us that he had misspoken and was, wrongly, recounting a number of press stories he had read. After reviewing this matter in preparation for his Commission meeting, President Clinton told us that Sudan never offered to turn Bin Ladin over to the United States.President Clinton meeting (Apr.8, 2004). Berger told us that he saw no chance that Sudan would have handed Bin Ladin over and also noted that in 1996, the U.S. government still did not know of any al Qaeda attacks on U.S. citizens. Samuel Berger interview (Jan. 14, 2004).

watched a documentary with Clarke blaming GWB for not responding to the Cole attack. I seem to remember that the Cole happened on Clinton's watch.Clinton did the same thing during the Wallace interview.

I think it was the author/ socialite Dorothy Parker who made this remark--a propot of a person in the entertainment biz--that surely applies to BJC: "Everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, including 'a' and 'the.'"

Clinton keeps claiming that 'right wing conservatives' were constantly complaining that he was too obsessed with bin LadenI'd like to see film footage where an actual Conservative ranted about this I don't think i have ever seen ANY Conservative claim this ! I know i heard plenty of them including myself scream about him being a lieing bastard about many things but bin laden was never one of them at least about him obsessing he used bin laden for excuses but never because he was chasing him but to cover up him chasing a skirt !

Wag the Dog arose because of the fact that Clinton bombed the aspirin factory the night before scheduled impeachment vote. The other bombing was in response Iraq's attempt on Geo. H.W. Bush's life when B41 was in Kuwait for a victory lap.

He also lied when he said that he hasn't criticized President Bush. Everyone knows he does it at least once a month. Also, Bush would never go on TV and blame the liberals for his problems eve though he would be right if he did. He takes responsibility like a real man.

Your memory is spot on. The lying degenerate sinkEmperor is trying to write the historical memory of his legacy. He is a liar and is always deceiving ... only when he is deceiving and getting dupes to swallow his koolaid is this degenerate man 'alive' otherwise he is a dead soul, a rotten tree from which thousands of sour acorns have fallen, the axis of acorns marshaled to balm sinkEmperor's egomaniac lust for worship.

Are these guys delusional or liars? Liars don't really believe what they say but delusional people truely believe their distortions.
Clinton, Clarke, Gore, Kerry, Dean and others are approaching a delusional state. They are sounding a lot like David Koresh and Jim Jones in their paranoia of the right.

My memory is that he was criticized for blowing up an "aspirin" factory. His timing and lack of further action is what concerned us "right wingers"!
To: technomage
I think if you do some Googling around you'll find the aspirin factory in Sudan and the two tents and a camel taken out in Afghanistan were also part and parcel of "wagging the dog".

Please prefer not to bring that piece of scum into the conservation by using Pat Buchanan's name.
Why people listen to Buchanan is a complete mystery to me.
Anti America and, anti Israel seems to be all he wants too talk about lately.
Hard for me to believe he was once part of the GOP speech writers.

No you are absolutely correct. I too recall that the original Wag the Dog was the Predator in Chiefs desire to deflect the Monica - Broderick Willey Jones Foster White Water scandals to name just a few (did I miss any?) by bombing Serbia and taking the medias attention away from his scandal riddle administration and personally deviant ways by attacking a country whos affairs and were not in our national interests but would replace his problems and tonights big story.
Bin Laden wasnt even a household name at the time.
This is just Bills sorry attempt to reinvent history.
