MoveOn.org disables Action Forum amid growing anti-Semitism and 9/11 denial scandal
MoveOn.org ^ | 9/24/06 | Bill Levinson

As we did in 2004, we've suspended ActionForum for the final push to the election to conserve technology bandwidth. ActionForum will be back after the election.

TOPICS: Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: actionforum; billnelson; bobcasey; joelieberman; moveonorg; nedlamont; ricksantorum
http://www.israpundit.com/2006/?p=2777 for my interpretation of these events.

No one disables their Web site, or part of it, six weeks before an election they are trying to win. Page visits– the more the better– are every Webmaster’s measure of success, and the excuse that MoveOn wants to “conserve bandwidth” would not fool a child.

It is eminently clear that MoveOn.org disabled the Action Forum to prevent its adversaries from harvesting reams of anti-Semitic and in some cases racist, anti-Christian, and anti-American hate speech along with 9/11 conspiracy theories that would play well on the Jeff Rense Show. (http://moveonpleasemoveon.blogspot.com/)

We do not know exactly what happened, although we sent information files about MoveOn’s anti-Semitism and 9/11 denial (like Holocaust denial, except it writes off two missing skyscrapers instead of six million missing Jews and three million missing Polish Catholics) to the candidates whom MoveOn has endorsed, cc: their opponents. It’s possible that someone from Bob Casey’s or Ned Lamont’s campaign demanded that MoveOn get rid of the incriminating evidence before it costs someone the upcoming election. Don't worry, we still have it all on file and posted elsewhere for easy reference!

" conserve technology bandwidth ..."

Here's a winning idea -- lets pick something, of which there's a world wide glut, and conserve it.

Liberals must absolutely hide their true nature during an election.

LOL...

"Attention All MoveOn.Org Guests: Until further notice we need to clean up our act. It has nothing to do with the election and the fact that U.S. citizens would actually find out what we have stood for since our inception. Carry on... Well, sortof."

A week or so ago I did a Google search for 9/11 conspiracy theories (I don't remember the exact search phrase) and I found this far-left forum (not moveon.org) that listed many wacky theories. Basically, "the Zionists" hid explosives in the towers and the Pentagon was attacked by a missile. Then I went to a neo-Nazi (yuck) site, and they presented a conspiracy theory that "the Jews" hid explosives in the towers and the Pentagon was attacked by a missile! It is getting really difficult to tell the Nazis and the Commies apart, nowadays.

Speaking of which, I was thinking about a little informal pool, built around this question:

"At what time on election night will DU decide to restrict access to their members only."

ActionForums are reader rated discussion forums. They are structured to promote a productive dialogue by the rise of ideas with broad support. They make clear where agreement and disagreement lie. ActionForums support threads of comments and replies to comments ordered by the preference of the participants rather than chronologically. ActionForums are fair and non-partisan because they operate according to a content neutral set of rules, which are applied automatically.

ActionForum is a web-based environment that:
Encourages Dialogue
Builds Communities
Enables Collaboration
Identifies Areas of Consensus
Generates Reporting that gives the information you need to take an Action
ActionForum versus Discussion Groups:
- ActionForum gives you both the highest reader-rated and the most recent comments
- Traditional forums give you only the most recent discussion
- ActionForum first encourages participants to rate whether they agree with others' comments
-It is difficult to facilitate agreement in chronological forums
- ActionForum participants are then able to rate comments by their importance
- Often important ideas in traditional forums get lost in the crowd

Yep...shut it down right before the election....brilliant!

Rove is the master....I bet he planted all those embarassing posts...

Thanks for this bit of info!

MoveOn is like most left wing organizations... they present one face to the public, another to each other. The entire left wing element is this country is far crazier than most americans realize.

Even Alan Colmes tries to play the 'moderate liberal' on the Hannity and Colmes show, but on his radio show his true colors come out.

I hope the Republicans harvest this cesspool of racism and conspiracy theories and plant it squarely in the faces of the Lamont minions.

This is going to piss off their rank and file. Why don't we give them the rope to hang themselves with - if someone can start a left wing blog that offers a censorship free environment for them to vent, I'll would put up some money, for the rope, so to speak.
