That Gergen interview was ridiculous. Gergen saying that clinton was trying to show other democrats how to fight back against charges that they are soft on terror.
I said it yesterday and I'll say it again. What the interview did was to display once and for all that clinton was FAR FAR more angry with his domestic political foes, that he was ever with the Islamofascists who were killing and bombing Americans all over the world.
Now, Bill Kristol joins the chorus, saying that clinton did this purposefully in order to "intimidate" other journalists from asking any questions.
Give me a break, Kristol.

Now, Bill Kristol joins the chorus, saying that clinton did this purposefully in order to "intimidate" other journalists from asking any questions. Give me a break, Kristol. I think there could be some truth in that. Not that Clinturd isn't a thug with a short fuse but there could be an attempt to intimidate against questions he doesn't want to answer.
And which he never really did answer directly, of course.

I actually agree wirh Kristol. Where I disagree is that his intimidation worked. It's like a parent who goes off too often. After a while it's just another "There he goes again"

The Beltway Clique has decided on a narrative and it's tough to talk them out of it once they think they've stumbled on a hidden truth the rest of the public doesn't see.
Billy apparently cannot deal with the fact Clinton has never been the smart self controlled ruthless politician they believed him to be years ago. To admit they lost to this man twice is too much for their egos to tolerate I suppose, so they craft this outburst as calculated.
I'd just like to know, if Billy is right, who did Clinton intimidate? Wallace said himself NO one else asked the question. I suspect they were never going to ask the question. he certainly doesn't need to intimidate journalists already protecting his backside. So, who? Conservatives? Conservatives aren't intimidated. If they didn't back off when Clinton sent goons to raid their tax receipts they aren't going to now. Infact, I suspect this incident has just increased their desire to mimic wallace and add such an outburst to their resumes.
Billy, face facts. 41 broke a conservative pledge and talked about the "new World Order". He alienated fiscal and social conservatives. Clinton came to office with a minority win.
Dole was a lousy candidate and a "moderate". Nice guy, a Hero, but nothing really to excite the people you needed. Clinton STILL only got a minority of the vote.
Clinton is not a political god, he is not a brilliant politicial tactician. What you see, that which the MSM cannot cover up, is what you get. He is immoral, lacking self discipline, given to extreme emotional outbursts..a narcissist.
Billy's conclusion is no more, no less, a reflection of the irrational fear that paralyzed conservatives (some) for years at the whisper of the name "Clinton".
I've never felt that fear.
