Dennis Prager notes the same critics - liberals - who've attacked Pope Pius XII for remaining silent in the face of Hitler's evil are the same critics who've attacked Pope Benedict XVI for speaking out on the evil of Islamofascism. The hypocrisy! From liberals, who made such a fuss over papal accountability. You would think the Left would finally congratulate the Church for finding its moral voice. As it turns out, the Left felt it was too strident in rebuking Islam. In the end, one doesn't know what the Church can do to meet the exacting standards of critics who've now decided we better not face some evils at all.

That sums it up. They really want popes (and everybody else) to follow the liberal line, which nowadays is very pro-Islamic. The author makes a great point, contrasting the cases of Pius XII and BXVI.

The general theme of this article occured to me some time ago, the big difference is that I can't write and the author can.

Nothing the Church ever does will please the left because they are generally godless and despise anything Christianity does.

Most such criticism is anticlericalism. Totaliarian leftists object to "the power of religion and the prestige of the papacy", because it is competition, and they want all power thmselves in states they control.

Dennis also mentioned the Historian Martin Gilbert CLEARING Pope Pius XII of being "Hitler's Pope"!! I WISH he would have mentioned this man in this article!!

The anti-Pius XII propaganda began in the '60s with the play, "The Deputy." Prior to that, the pope was celebrated for his role during WWII.

Sunday I stood up in my Presbyterian Church at the time for Prayer Requests and asked for the Pope to be added to the Prayer Requests and asked God's protection for the Pope since his speaking out has endangered him and other Catholics.

Afterwards the minister and other members thanked me for mentioning it.

My point is that even if he could do more, it is disingenuous for Jewish umbrella organizations to criticize him when THEY DID SH-T!
Charity begins at the home and if Jews did not speak out than don't criticize gentiles who didn't.
The non-Orthodox Jewish community of America was an absolute disgrace during the Holocaust. Than as now they are largely card carrying liberals first and Jews -maybe - tenth. They were so busy self stimulating to the New Deal that they didn't want to upset things for Roosevelt.
Don't believe the canard that they didn't know-
If they didn't know ,why did the ORTHODOX Rabbis march on Washington to get action? FDR's Jewish liberal advisor's told him to leave town.
