Agree. Was looking like an idiot part of the strategy? Selective moral outrage? Get a clue, Bill. What happens in our White House does not stay in the White House. Washington is not Vegas.
Memo: August 2001?? Okay.....Mousaoui computer. Let's talk to Gorelick about it.
In the background, you will hear the sounds of water lapping, stimulating thoughts of Hillary and Bubba dancing on the beach.
Bill Clinton is saying:
(a) "I did not have sex with that woman..."
(b) "Hunting Bin Laden was a priority of my administration..."
(c) "I love my wife and find her attractive..."
The bottom line is: the more the finger is wagging the bigger the lie with Slick. People know this so I would think it was not a good ploy if planned.
What about that taped interviewwhere klinton ADMITS that he passed on the THREE offers by the Sudan to take custody of OBL? klinton, in his own voice and words and without prompting said it. So, based on that taped interview, everything klinton says in his defense is nothing but caca. He had THREE chances to take OBL in and just DIDN"T DO IT!. Hence we had what happened on September 11, 2001. klinton has the blood of thousands on his hands.
The best analysis I heard
was by a guest on FoxNews
who stated that Clinton was
so used to being fawned over
and toadied to that he has
lost all common sense. And
he has a history of lashing
out at people who displease
his ego.
Take a look at that interview...
he couldn't cite any source
other than Clark's pro-Clinton
book.
The man proved what we all suspected. He was capable of raping Juanita Broaddrick.
In the end they'll be left with Larry King.
Wrong. In the interveiw he said that he was told that 50% of the time would be devoted to that subject.
Gingrich (and Larry Elder, and others) couldn't be more wrong here.
No awkward questions to Democrats to interfere with the proper media spin.
No recognition of a Republican merits, only Culture of Corruption theme.
We could all return to the 1990's when everyone loved us and respected us. No enemies attacked us or plotted against us.
Pass the bong man, the buzz is wearing off!
I really think Clinton out foxed himself. I guess he assumed that a 50/50 interview would have say 5 or whatever number of questions about his Global Warming Initiate then 5 about anything else. I believe Slick was planning on running out the clock (talk and talk and talk) on his GWI questions and never allow Wallace his 5 other questions. Slick never counted on Wallace flipping back and forth from Billy's deal to real questions.
Newt is wrong and should not speculate unless he know this to be true. Newt should either play statesman or play pundit - not both.
BS. Clinton has blown up like that before when challenged. His is sociopath who believes his own lies. Clinton was defending his legacy, nothing more and nothing less. It was all about him not shoring up the Dem party.
- you forget about David Letterman.
Nobody mentions Clinton also accused the Republicans of demanding that we leave Mogadishu after Blackhawk Down, and that it was us that started the nation building before he took office. Both are complete lies. If anything, Republicans where flabbergasted that we didn't level Mogadishu, let alone taxi around the warlord less than a month later.
The Clintons have never done anything without a reason. I agree that the Sunday freakout was staged, but I don't think it was for political advantage.
Clinton allowed Ken Starr to pursue the Lewinsky issue in order to avoid the treason issue. Had Starr's investigation gone beyond Monica and perjury, Clinton would most likely have been impeached for selling/giving nuclear technology to China. That would have been a lot more serious than a few blow jobs in the Oval Office.
Something new is getting ready to break. The Clintons are simply getting out in front of it by making Crazy Bill the issue again.
I totally disagree with Newt on this one. People are inclined to give Clinton too much credit for political brilliance. He is glib and has a surface charm, but he has never been able to stand being confronted or accused and he's always had a temper.
He may have thought he could handle it, but he blew up and revealed his true self.
The reason for his reputation is solely because of the free pass the press has given him for years.
Premeditated maybe, but he really needed more rehersal time.
He blew it. The red-nosed, blubbering lip, in-your-face finger-wag came across the tv screen as much as Pinocchio's fast-growing wooden proboscis did as he told another Fairy Tale.
(Those Right Wing Armeggedon guys, militia, Christian Fundy's are the biggest threat to the US - Janet and Bill 1999)
