It looks as if immigrants youths want to turn nightly rioting during the Islamic holy month of ramadan into an annual tradition. Around 8:30pm last night violence erupted again in Brussels, the capital of Europe. The riots centered on the Brussels Marollen quarter and the area near the Midi Train Station, where the international trains from London and Paris arrive. Youths threw stones at passing people and cars, windows of parked cars were smashed, bus shelters were demolished, cars were set ablaze, a youth club was arsoned and a shop was looted. Two molotov cocktails were thrown into St.Peters hospital, one of the main hospitals of central Brussels. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fires at the hospital, but youths managed to steal the keys of the fire engine.
During the month of ramadan Muslims are required to fast during the day and are only allowed to eat after sunset. As Esther pointed out What should be noticed about the riots is that they start after sunset. Besides the fact that they start after dark, it also gives the rioters enough time to break their fast and enjoy the traditional family meal. Sunset is around 7:30pm. Tuesdays and Mondays riots began around 8:30pm.
Last night the police arrested 45 rioters. One of them will be prosecuted for assaulting the owner of a shop. Philippe Close, the chef de cabinet of the Mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans, said that the authorities would continue their efforts to defuse the situation in a peaceful manner, but he announced that the police will be less complacent in future, since we cannot tolerate that this [Marollen] neighbourhood falls victim to a problem from outside the neighbourhood.
The immigrant youths claim that they are upset by the death of Fayçal Chaaban, a 25-year old criminal, in a Brussels prison last Sunday. Yesterday morning the authorities announced they would hold a meeting with the youths to hear their grievances about security in prison, but the meeting, which was due last night, could not take place because of the riots.
The authorities are especially nervous since the Belgian municipal elections are being held on Sunday October 8th. It is likely that the elections will be won by anti-immigrant, islamophobic parties. Since ramadan will not be over on October 8th and many immigrants might perceive a victory of the indigenous right (as opposed to their own far-right) as an insult, Muslim indignation over the election results in major cities may spark serious disturbances. According to a poll published today the Vlaams Belang party is set to win 38.6% of the vote in Antwerp (compared to 33,0% in the previous municipal elections six years ago).

Ramadan Rioting in Brussels, 26 September 2006
Islam is the only religion where riots reliably follow religious services.
Kinda tells you something.
I WILL MULTIPLY THY SEED EXCEEDINGLY...THOU ART WITH CHILD, AND SHALT BEAR A SON, AND SHALT CALL HIS NAME ISHMAEL...AND HE WILL BE A WILD MAN-Gen 16:10-12.

The problem is most of these punks are born in Europe and are EU citizens. Where do you deport them to? France? They cannot be sent to their parents home countries.
Yeah, I've read that before. Ironic and as true today as the day it was written.
Are you sure this isn't a script for a Monty Python comeback?
SHOOT RIOTERS!!!!
they better not try rioting in my neighborhood....or they will be some pretty sorry sheet heads.
C'mon, look at the bright side. Rioting keeps them busy and certainly doesn't result in any new little mouoselimes; it probably also reduces potential converts.
</goofing around>
It means "peace, ya know
"This time they may get enslaved and converted back to the 5th Century."
In My Home Town, five years ago, we had what the ethnic radio station in town calls "the uprisings" and sensible people call "the riots" over a punk kid with fifteen warrents on him, who ran into a dark ally chased by cops, and made a sudden grab for his pockets in the dimness. The cops, rightly, viewed this as the punk going for a gun, and shot him.
The predictable happened...endless whining about "the cops are shooting our babies!" The formation of several public committees to "oversee" (handcuff) the cops. And nights and nights of torching their own neighborhoods, followed by years of complaining that "all those businesses we burned down never came back to our area and we have no jobs!"
But, those riots and these riots, I can sum them all up in two words: "free sneakers".
Hey, Mooselimbs! You don't fool us. You want free sneakers.
These riots are nothing more than Muslims trying to show the Euros who's boss. and its working
The Barbarians destroyed Roman civilization. And now the Muslims are destroying Western civlilization.
Now those are some real class moves... Bomb the hospitals... Disable the emergency rescue equipment... Where's the hysterical global media response to this? Shouldn't we schedule a 'day of rage' or something?
Are they? In the old days('80s) you could be the third generation of a immigrant family born in Germany and not be a German Citizen.
Has the EU changed that?
Perhaps the Sun would be fitting...
Wow. Color me surprised.
"The authorities are especially nervous since the Belgian municipal elections are being held on Sunday October 8th. It is likely that the elections will be won by anti-immigrant, islamophobic parties."
You think this might have a slight connection to the fact that the immigrants have a tendency to be violent? Nah.
We need, The Bishop!!
Aren't guest worker programs absolutely wonderful for society?
"immigrant youths", not mooselimbs.
election probably won by "anti-immigrant, islamophobic parties." I personally don't like senseless, barbaric murders, does that make me islamophobic?
A little biased? Unbelievable.
During Lent my family fasts and goes to church to participate in the Stations of the Cross. Never thought of rioting.
blood will spill and people will die violently
and satan will giggle over the counterfit religion he has created.
Bump
Whatever happened to "Rioters will be shot"?
islamophobia = the "irrational" fear of muslims who want to behead you, rape and enslave your children, and destroy your society...
Where's the 'Rosh Hashana Rioting'?
Where's the 'Lent Rioting'?
Hmmmm .... one of these things is not like the others ...
"During the month of ramadan Muslims are required to fast during the day and are only allowed to eat after sunset."
The only improvement I would make is to extend the fast through the nightime hours also !!!
thank you for that citation.
"It is likely that the elections will be won by anti-immigrant, islamophobic parties."
And there you have it. It is why Europe will fall to the muslims. As evil as these SOB muslims can be, and the article is still peppered with references to "immigrants", and attempts at "peaceful resolution".
The correct response is that these people are not acting as citizens. They are acting as an invading, hostile force. Not recognizing that, and not dealing with it appropriately will be Europe's demise.
How long before they hold an election and anyone not carrying a koran will be afraid to go out to vote?
I'd say wake up Europe, but they won't, and it's getting very late in the game.
More breaking news from the Alternate Universe.
Leni
I learn something new every day.
Do Fire Trucks now need Lo-Jack?
Yup. I think the pope should apologize.
Don't you just love the "Holiday Season"?...............
Know Islam: No Peace.
No Islam: Know peace.
RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's just the festivities of RAMADAMADINGDONG.
That's its nickname because most of the EU administration is done there.
I don't know what the big deal is. This kind of thing always happens around here during Lent. There is so much smoke from the fires that, by the time the 40 days have passed, you don't even notice it anymore. On Sundays and at the end of any services held during the week, our good priest reminds us to keep the fast, and then sends us on our way with a hearty, "Burn, baby, burn!"
wake up! wake up! the Muslims are coming.....
It seems that the authorities are more concerned with negotiating with these thugs, and less concerned with the safety of their citizens. I wonder how much longer it's going to be before America needs to go over to Europe and bail them out again.
