Today President Bush traveled to Memphis, Tennessee to attend a campaign fundraiser for Senate Candidate Bob Corker. This evening he is hosting a dinner for Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf to focus attention on the need to work together to defeat terrorism, with an emphasis on the shared interests of both leaders. (A few prayers would be in order for wisdom for our President during this dinner, I think......)

It continues to be a good time to support this President, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

I, however, firmly believe in the saying, "Democrats win polls. Republicans win elections."

I think that's going to happen here.

Wish I could be a fly on the wall for that dinner. Bet it is an interesting evening. I was thinking about this today...is there ever a mention of Pr. Karzai's wife? Does he have one? Just curious.

I have to tell a story.

Hubby went to the Wednesday night service. There are never many people there, but he usually knows them all.

He saw this young woman (about 30) whom he described as wearing a tank top and shorts -- as he put it -- even shorter than the ones you have on (referring to me, but I am going on a dog walk in 90 degree weather, not to church).

Anyway, after the service she came up to him and asked a favor. He said, okay, and she said, would you pray for marriage.

He said, are you getting married? And she said, 'no, but I'd like to.' and then she said 'all the men want to go to bed early' and began whining about finding a man who would respect her.

So, of course, he's thinking maybe if you didn't wear such short shorts.....

Anyway, we both thought it was kinda bizarre.

If snugs shows up, tell her I want picture no. 3 in post 10, where he is smiling so warmly at some woman who is not shown. That's a very sweet smile.

I have to go to the health club now (where I think I can wear shorts without violating the unwritten rules of fashion).
