"In other words, the real agenda of Mahony and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is to get the millions of illegal aliens currently in the U.S. a virtual guarantee of citizenship and therefore “rights” to which they are not now entitled. Illegals following the “roadmap to citizenship” would get minimum wages and full benefits—likely to the economic detriment of existing union workers. And as an added plus for the Catholic Church, these new citizens would conveniently be looking to the church, not the U.S. government, as their benefactor."

Is Mahoney supposed to be involving himself with state government?

Ping!

Mexico needs to solve Mexico's problems instead of dumping them on our back porch! And the sooner the Mexicans realize that, the better. In the meantime, lets get that fence/wall or whatever they're going to build...built!

"Is Mahoney supposed to be involving himself with state government?"

"NYer" and/or "Salvation" would be better qualified than I to answer your question.

I don't think anyone should be to surprised about this. The church is just looking for a constituency kinda like the democrats are.

Lets not get into posting smears, please.

Mahoney may be wrong on how to deal with this issue but he is hardly a "traitor" any more than other Americans who are on the opposite side of this issue are.

Mahoney is a man of God and deserves our respect.

And why not, he also gets $$$$$ from local, State and U.S. taxpayers. He no longer needs to rely on the meager coins dropped in the plates by the illegals.

I'm not, but were I a Catholic, I would flatly refuse to give one cent to support what the Church is doing not only in CA but all across America. They almost singlehandedly are supporting not only Mexifornia but Norte Americana.

You don't know much about Catholics and the Church, do you? LOL

It's all about money and power for him. The LA churches have been hurting financially due to decreased attendance. Mahoney is not a man of God.

The Latino-Catholic alliance has spilled out in to many of the surrounding cities in the Inland Empire as well. Local priests are demanding districts drawn up just for Latino voters and organizing political rallies.

“With the U.S. being the greatest economic power in the world,” he explained to us, “we would have some obligation to help Mexico solve their problem of poverty.” Yeah, our obligation might extend to buying products made in Mexico (if the price is right). Otherwise Cardinal, STFU and obey our laws. No one put you above them.

I think you need to research Mahoney a little more. John and Ken (the 2 crazy radio guys on KFI) had some interesting information about him a few years ago.

God's work does not include impeding investigations by the LA District Attorney.

sorry, but I don't depend on a couple of "crazy" radio DJ's for my information. LOL

if you want to bash the Catholic Church, its ministry and members; you will have to go elsewhere.

I don't even think Mahoney is doing it for a constituency. He is doing it to be 'out there,' on the cutting edge of defiant and holier than thou. He doesn't care about Catholicism, nor, I bet, does he practice it. But he does care about FAME and he is prideful and arrogant. Some of the sheeple think he is just wonderful for daring to defy Rome. He turns my stomach.

I disagree with Mahoney's position but I am certainly not going to smear him like some have done on this thread.
I'm sure his heart is in the right place but Mexico needs to solve Mexico's problems...and with our help; I would support such a position.
