CAIRO, Egypt - The new leader of al-Qaida in Iraq said in an audio message posted on a Web site Thursday that more than 4,000 foreign insurgent fighters have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. It was believed to be the first major statement from insurgents in Iraq about their losses.
"The blood has been spilled in Iraq of more than 4,000 foreigners who came to fight," said the man, who identified himself as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir - also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri - the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. The voice could not be independently identified.

True, but the leftest view is that the insurgents were not in Iraq before we attacked, but rather, they went to Iraq in response to our attack. My response is BFD, if the insurgents weren't fighting us in Iraq, they would be trying to kill us someplace else like NYC, Chicago, LA, or Boston.
From the profiles I have seen of the rank and file Islamist terror recruit I would say that they are the virgins.

After the main part of the War with Iraq was over. Some of our Freepers with special forces type of training, predicted that Iraq would be like lanterns drawing moths, the al Qaeda scum in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
So over 4000 have rushed into Iraq to be drawn into the "lantern flames" to burn out.
A non Freeper friend, former Green Beret, who consults with our SF people, compared Iraq to a huge electronic bug zapper. He said everytime we are near an electronic bug zapper and hear it Zap a bug, we can imagine that was what just happened to another al Qaeda scumbag in Iraq.
This friend said that every al Qaeda scumbag killed in Iraq or Afghanistan is one less terrorist, who might kill innocent Americans.
You'd think that the "current" government would ....
