For more than 26 years, Congressman John P. "Jack" Murtha (D-Penn.) has not been truthful about his involvement in Abscam, court records and the complete video of his meeting with the FBI show.
In recent years, only a 13-second video of Murtha's videotaped meeting with the FBI agents was publicly available. TAS has obtained a copy of the full, original video from a source close to the Abscam investigation on the condition of anonymity. The court transcript is publicly available at the National Archives. Thank you
I would just *love* to know who had this before it was released. Given TPTB of the day it had to be a Democrat.
Please put me on an Irey ping list if you have one.
Oh - WE have one alright!!! LOL! Allow me to add to Jaz's confirmation by saying,
"Congratulations! You have been added to the prestigious IREY ping list!"
No, it was tracked down by a dogged amateur researcher who has thus far managed to remain anonymous. That may change if the MSM decides to play "slime the messenger" instead of just ignoring the story. I helped out a bit around the edges myself, but it was "Deep Abdul" who did the heavy lifting.
I listened to the 53 minute tape and heard Murtha brag about a big insurance deal that he landed for his district. I assume this is the Rob Gleason connection. Gleason being the state GOP chair who has been knifing Irey in the back, and lives in the 12th PA district. Aside from Murtha using a lot of GDs and the F word he pretty much came off with asking them to deposit money in some on his district's banks or invest in a district business and he would help them. This is a pure quid pro quo and a criminal offense. However, the prosecutors must have felt that since he did not walk out of the room with the 5 stacks of 10-$100 bills, then they would just let him rat out his friends and be a unindicted co-conspirator. He remains guilty. He interspersed his comments with cautions that someone might tell what he did, that he might end up in jail, etc. Yes, he is guilty.
I read somewhere that you are supposed to contact Murtha's office directly for their poll results since they won't be releasing them publicly.
America's Dream Team: Irey/Mendicino 20??
Awesome! Thanks for your help, too.

I kept hearing the "insurance" word over and over as I listened to the video last night. This will require more research.
Thanks for your insight into this tape. I've been anxious to see it and will be viewing it shortly. The more I hear about Gleason the less I like him.
Excellent work and thank you both very much, this is big.
I just noticed that BootMurtha.com is offering the Murtha tape for a $35 donation. In my opinion this is a serious mistake, since it makes it appear that there's some connection between the Spectator article and this fund-raising effort. Actually, the Spectator and BootMurtha each acquired the tape from "Deep Abdul" independently. Nevertheless, this attempt to "sell" the tape may be the reason Drudge has removed his link to the article.

Okay, it's gone. Thanks...
BTTT
A "serious mistake?" Uh, okay. You don't agree with Boot Murtha's decision, that's cool.
Since BootMurtha just pulled the offer, it would seem they agree with me.
Maybe they do. Maybe they pulled it for some other reason. I dunno.
