Got wine at the airport? It's harder to grab a cab
Mpls Star-Tribune ^ | 28 sep 06 | John Reinan

When flight attendant Eva Buzek returned to Minneapolis from a trip to France, five taxi drivers refused to take her home from the airport. The reason? She had two bottles of wine in her suitcase -- and the drivers were Muslims, who don't drink and refuse to have alcohol in their taxis.

Now the airports commission has a solution: color-coding the lights on the taxi roofs to indicate whether a driver will accept a booze-toting fare. The actual colors haven't been decided on yet, but commission officials met Thursday with representatives of the taxi drivers and the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society to continue working on the plan.

Note to self: Avoid color coded cabs that don't allow booze-toting fares, whether carrying alcohol or not.

a raghead in our old apt building made his Austrian girl friend keep her wine at our place.

Sure, but I bet he didn't keep his saif away from her when she was tipsy.

Why not just enclose it in a plastic bag? The clothes around it will make it less likely to get broken. My folks traveled home from up here with about 8 or 9 bottles of wine in their suitcases. They had them wrapped in bubble wrap and their clothes. Not a one was broken.

Back in the day, I would've just carried on, but we all know that's not allowed...

I'm glad your parents didn't have a problem. Bubble wrap is certainly a good choice, but I wouldn't chance it, except as a carry-on.

"Minneapolis is definitely not Minnesota."

"That's like trying to say that Los Angeles is not California.

Besides, the maps say otherwise."

You have a map that says Los Angeles is California? I bet that will come as a surprise to the 32 million people who live in California who don't live in L.A.

Simple:

1a. Line up the cabs.
1b. Line up the passengers.
2. When a cab gets to the front of the line, he either:
2a. Takes the next passenger in line, or
2b. IMMEDIATELY goes to the rear of the line.

I was thinking about setting up a vending stand at the airport taxi service that serves the hotdog wrapped in bacon, like they have in Tiajuana.

In 1998, when our cruise ship docked in Trinidad, which is half Muslim, I made sure that we got a Christian driver. All the folks who went with Muslim drivers had a terrible time. The drivers would not let them stop to purchase beer and lectured them about being infidels. Many of them ditched their drivers by sneaking out the back of restaurants.

The cabbies were just holdin out for a tip. Give him an extra bit up front and I bet his morals go right out the window.

You know what I mean, but if you want to quibble over semantics, knock yourself out.

'Sides, I've seen California freeways. From the congestion I've seen around that area, I wouldn't be surprised if all 32 million Californians were in that area...and their combined IQs wouldn't be above 100...judging from the way they drive.

LOL! I don't want my cheese soaked in wine, though. I want my cheese on crackers or bread, with Dijon mustard, smoked oysters, and spicy venison salami.

Umm, didn't some court tell a pharmacy, a private business, that they had to carry the morning after pill?

Some religions have freedom to practice however they want, other religions better toe the leftist line.

"Wherever the Catholic sun does Shine
there is laughter and dance and Wine
I find it so wherever I go
Dominus Benedicto!"

I poem by Hilliare Belloc that I have probably misremembered. The elements of communion are bread and wine, bread for nourishment, and wine for divine ecstasy. Eternal Life described as a wedding feast.

These bigots need their licenses pulled.

Agreed. Let them go back to their own filthy Muslim hell holes. No compromise with the head chopping scum.
