Does this mean the Jeb can appoint a new member prior to the election?

Does this also mean a special election on Nov 7 to fill the remainder of his term, along with the election for the next Congress?

Time for Jeb Bush o pull a McGreevy. Since he's not up for re-election he can appoint himself to fill out the term. Then he can run for the seat as a write in and the Dims'll be skunked!

I knew this guy was going to eventually get the GOP in trouble.

He should have just switched parties...the Dems would then be singing his praises...

Well, whatever this represents, it seems to be spreading.
Good riddance to Mr. Foley.
Any chance another Republican can step in and give the Democrat a fight?

16 year old boy? He should be horse whipped. Twice, once for the boy and once for screwing us out of a seat. I despise cretins like this..he smears the whole party by his actions.

So e-mailing a kid is fodder for resignation but getting b.j.'s from an intern not much older, that makes that president who is painted as a victim of mean Republicans who dared suggest he be removed from office, a hero who leaves office with a 65% approval rating. The e-mails may have been a little weird, but they weren't to the level of what Bubba did. We live in a topsy turvey, Alice in Wonderland nation right now.

This is how far down the rat has sunk. He is coming to understand that he will lose again and has lashed out at a gay Republican that they did get some votes out of. Foley was outed years ago by a DC queer's website. They have had this card up their sleeve for at least two years. He won with 68%, the district is most likely safe. They will gain nothing but the "joy" of having destroyed a man. Maybe gay rank and file Dems will realize it is ALWAYS the rat that outs people. But probably not.

Based on his actions, looks like he disgraced himself and a list of others.
Unlike the sorry DEMS, I won't support wrong doing because he's on my side (was).

No doubt they'll let the Republicans handpick a replacement for him on the ballot. Anything less would be a "hypertechnical reliance" on the rules.

I am surprised, I really did not think there was much to this story. Now it makes me think that perhaps there is more in those emails that was not released that is far more suspect than asking about a birthday and a photo. Wonder if anyone has any more of the emails published?
