Many American Jews are de facto secular atheists. They fear Southern Baptists more than Osama. I know Jews on the Chicago North Shore who think bans on gay marriage and partial birth abortion shall lead American into a theocracy. Thus to them, the Religious Right must be crushed. While at the same time, think Hamas and Osama can be reasoned with.
It goes to show that racism, sexisim, and anti-semitism are fine as long as you are a liberal.

They never will. Republicans are fighting terrorists, democrats are electing them.
Nobody is going to flame me, since I'm Jewish. And we are running ads in Jewish newspapers all over the country through the Republican Jewish Coalition saying exactly this same thing: Hello Fellow Jews, The Democrat Party Has Stopped Representing You! 85% of the GOP supports Israel and only 43% of the Democrat Party supports Israel. Time to rethink your political alliances.
There are two primary reason that all Jews are not in the GOP.
1. There are those scary Christians in the GOP like Robertson, Dobson, Falwell who keep mentioning that Christ guy and seeming to want to convert everybody to Christianity. (This is a completely false assumption and it like trying to convince people not to be afraid of the dark).
2. Most Jews, unfortunately, are not religious. There are even Atheist Jews - swear to God. The 'religion' becomes liberalism exactly the way Ann Coulter described it in her book. They want to 'heal the world' or Tikkun Olam in Hebrew. This has been taken over from a concept in the Torah into a socialist platform similar to environmentalism which went from planting trees to killing off capitalism. It doesn't matter than the GOP actually accomplishes the things which these liberal non-religious Jews believe in. The GOP doesn't seem to 'care' about the poor, minorities, trees, world peace, etc, etc, etc. Being Jewish literally becomes the adherence to the belief that this liberal checklist of issues are the most important thing on Earth. (you have to pretty much stop believing in or worrying about God or Heaven since you are trapped here on Earth trying to fix society).
At the RJC, we have been trying to convert more and more of these Jews by primarily going after point #1. There is a tremendous amount of work already done and still to be done by very heavyweight Christian leaders in supporting and rebuilding Israel with absolutely no attempt to convert Jews. And with Bush in the WH, we have the most pro-Israel president in history as the arguably most Christian president ever. We continually point out that when it comes down to brass tacks, the GOP and those Christians are the ones who really put it on the line to help Jews in Israel and save the only Jewish state on Earth. The Democrats, by constrant, ally themselves with CAIR, Cong. Black Caucus (who openly support anti-semites like Farrakhan & Sharpton) and publicly defend and explain away those terrorists who seek to finish off Hitlers plan.
Its a slow, slow thing but it has to be done person to person since we are basically asking people to give up their religion (liberalism) and start being Jews instead and support those people who support Jews.
Since 6 out of 10 of the top GOP contributors are already Jews, we are pushing them to make it 10 out of 10 and ensure that the GOP is always safe for Jews to be in the party despite their small numbers. (You and I know that virtually nobody in the GOP opposes having Jews in the party, but there is still the myth out there which is validated every time the word Jesus is said at a podium). But we have made more gains since Bush got into office than we did since Reagan left office. And we are picking up very wealthy and very influential Jews in lots of markets now and bringing more and more members of Congress to Israel to show them what a year round terrorism threat is like and gaining them support in doing more outreach to even more Jews. We have two more years before Bush is out of office to really secure a large anchor in the Jewish community. And the next President will be starting off with a big headstart in this demographic.
Party allegiance is thicker than water.

Only 85% of the GOP supports Israel ? We need to weed out the 15% who aren't doing the right thing !
I wish I could vote against Ellison. I live in Saint Paul so I can't. However, I can mention that this Mohammed wannabee is hiding his Islamic Excremist past to people I know from Minneapolis.
