There's no reason for him to resign over Foley.

There is no reason for Rove to resign over Wilson.

There is no reason for Rumsfeld to resign over WMDs.

There is no reason for Delay to resign over fundraising.

There is no reason for Scalia to recuse himself over his friendship with Cheney.

This is a typical Democrat ploy - if you can't unseat someone electorally, try to unseat them through the press.

If Hastert caves, that's weakness in the face of the enemy.

Then why hasn't he already resigned?

One thing I would like to know..... When haven't the Republicans shown weakness in the face of the enemy? I'll give the Republicans one more pass this election, but if I don't see results, if the Republicans hold the House and Senate, I'm finished with the Republicans. The Republicans in DC had best wake up and grow a spine, I too am tired of the Republicans caving. I will not continue to vote for people who offer no results.

If anyone thinks this coming out 30 days before an election is a mere accident, then they are out of touch with political reality in America. This is no accident. The problem apparently had festered and become closet knowledge.

Rather than innoculate themselves against it long ago, the leadership has allowed it to be used against them.

That is either negligence or incompetence....take your pick.

Worse, it plays into democrat hands right at election time, and darned if the democrats aren't the ones who SUPPORT that kind of thing.

The world is upside down where wrong is right and right is wrong.

I'm not saying Hastert should resign (yet) - but he did originally claim to not have seen even the emails. He then later admitted he had seen them.

So now, I'm supposed to believe him when he says he only saw emails and not the IMs? There's something rotten up on the hill.
