Now that that is out of the way I will reveal how I (and a few others) discovered Jordan Edmund was one of the former house pages that participated in sexually explicit instant messages with Rep. Mark Foley. Also I will explain to you why I believe it necessary to reveal Jordan Edmund's identity. You may not agree with my decision, but I hope to explain my reasoning by the end of this story.

He should not have been outed if he was still a minor.
He is not. Frankly, he chose to engage in these conversations with Foley. I would not have been scarred for life from them if they had happened to me. I would be disgusted by Foley, but an "outing" like this would not be the end of the world if people found out he was conversing with me.
I somehow doubt it will be the end of his world.
He is on a Republican campaign staff, and he needs to be fired tomorrow, as he is clearly not on the Republican team.

AOL has some weird thing that when you set up IM's they CAN go to your cell phone. Evidently I have mine set up wrong as all my IM's go to my cell phone AS WELL as the computer screen.
And, ladies and gems, these things REMAIN on my cell phone until I erase them. So this is how the IM's might have been saved. As opposed to copy and paste I mean. Copy and paste could be anything but a message on the cell phone? Pretty good proof.
Don't be silly. If Foley were innocent do you think he would be acting the way he is today?

There is nothing supporting this. He reported his lecherous boss years ago. What, he's supposed to cover for Foley because he was somehow seduced and participatory, and is a republican?

If you read some of the earlier postings by the kid, you'll see that he already knew of Foley's reputation before he took the job. It sounds to me as thought the kid was playing Foley for a fool, not the other way around. None of this is meant to exculpate Foley, just to say that the kid wasn't really a victim.
He's not innocent. That is obvious, and irrelevant.
I think that's why the Page saved the IMs ie to blackmail Foley.
The fact that he was 18 at the time is pretty important.
You're probably right, but the relationship began on that un-even basis, and Foley was a disgusting predator and the boy probably decided at some point to put a stop to this guy's behavior.

Not according to Brian Ross who was just on with O'Reilly. According to Ross, nobody had the IMs until the Pages (yes he said PAGES) came forward to ABC. Therefore, he said, he was quite confident Hastert never saw them (or anyone else for that matter). The email, which was ambiguous, was from a shared years ago. Not the explicit IMs according to Ross.
Probably a plant to dig up something to crash & burn Istook's run for governor!

That AOL IM cell phone thing is interesting, but the kid admits recording them and turning them into some government authority to report the pervert.
