They offered to not protest in exchange for air time, Mike jumped on it for ratings, same as H&C.

I can come down on either side of this issue.
The small dose of Mrs. Phelps last night on H&C was analogous to a bottle of epicac.
Giving them AN HOUR however, could be good or bad IMO.
One way to present them would be to play a laugh track underneath them during the whole hour.
That would put them in the proper context.

No - Mike was the one that offered airtime for them to stay away. It was totally his idea, not theirs. There was no appeasement, because they had no demands.

One thing I have noticed about Mike and, that I appreciate very much, is he will not allow a liberal to talk over him in a conservation. He stands his ground, not like some of the whimppy GOP speakers.

On their website, they basically say that there is no redemption for "fags" no matter what, even if they give their soul to Jesus. If that's what they really believe, then what's their point? If there is no way for a "fag" to find salvation, then their protests are even more mean-spirited than we already thought they were, because they're basically saying: Haha, you're going to hell, and nothing can save you!
