Once again affirming my deep conviction that anyone who styles himself an "ethicist" should be put to death for the well-being of humanity.

It wasn't much of a step from starvation being a euphoric death to "Let's torture them, they can't complain".

They should use themselves as the experiments - how awful.

A person who has PVS is not dead! If you claim to respect the sacredness of human life, you cant use a human person for medical experimentationthat would be grossly immoral. Many people have no such respect. Many people look upon human life as a purely biological function, and not sacred at all.

Brain-Injury Patients Should be Used for Medical Experiments, Suggest Bioethicists Perhaps, but Democrats are more plentiful.

See where this is going, and these people are 'bioethicists', and I am sure they have a bevy of lawyers all line up to make their case, maybe starting in a state's legislative body.
To: wagglebee
"Patients designated as in a persistent vegetative state (PVS) should be used for medical experiments, according to several top bioethicists, regardless of whether or not prior consent was obtained".
Sounds like Nazi Germany.

Gee, every time I go to sleep, I have this cognitive impairment. I don't recognize what is going on around me and I hallucinate. I guess I'm just prime material for medical experimentation.

Noticeably missing from this thread, are the responses from those FReepers who frequent the pro-life threads, to declare that brain damaged people aren't human, and aren't entitled to human rights. Could it be that they recognize how repugnant their views are, and would like to pretend this isn't really happening, until they gain more support?

It was relatively minor, considering how bad head injuries can get, but still...
