"There is just something about a teen body." Joseph Wunderler was trolling the Internet looking for child sex one night in July 2005 when he typed those words in a private message to 14-year-old "Erin." From there, the 29-year-old Army sergeant from Pennsylvania embarked on an online odyssey that ended three weeks later when he drove to Herndon, Va., to meet his intended victim.
Wunderler started by endearing himself to Erin, whose screen name was sweet-erin78: "I think you look great ... nice to meet you Erin *kisses hand*," he wrote. Slowly, on that first day, he turned the subject to sex. "So are you a thong kind of girl? ... So if I was there ... what else would you want to do?" As the chat log lengthened, so did Wunderler's deviant wish list.
"This one was on a different level than nasty. He really made me sick," said Van De Camp, the 24-year-old Arkansas woman behind the screen name sweet-erin78, who eventually lured Wunderler to Herndon. "When I was chatting with him, I had problems sleeping, he was just so gross." Van De Camp is a member of Perverted Justice, a group of volunteers who spend their free time chatting up pedophiles online, listening to their fantasies and, if possible, luring them to places where they can be arrested. It's a cause they embrace, even when the work extracts an emotional toll.
Perhaps you've seen the deer-in-the-headlights expressions of men like Wunderler when they arrive at so-called "bust houses" to be greeted by television cameras from "Dateline NBC."

Real adult MEN aren't titillated be talking dirty to little prepubescent girls, and no adult MAN would physically go meet some little prepubescent girl in order to commit statutory rape. The age of consent differs from one society to another and EVEN from one state to the next.
In some states the age of consent is 16...most it is 18.
The idea that all men have an attraction that turns off at 17 and then turns on at 18, otherwise YOU think they are sickos who should be executed is really wacko.

Why would a decent person even have to go online to look for sex? They are risking everything by doing this. If they become trapped in a sting c'est la vie!

48-year-old Maurice Wolin is a prominent San Francisco cancer doctor. Also among the men in caught this investigation are military men and professionals from Silicon Valley.
PETALUMA, CALIF. - We set up a house where a young teen is supposed to be home alone. Like moths to a flame, potential sex predators can’t stay away.
That is of course until they see me.
Even though millions of people have seen our series and we’ve caught 150 men, in this latest investigation, our seventh one, we have one of our largest turnouts ever.
29 men show up at this upscale house in Petaluma, California in just three days. We’ve rigged it with hidden cameras—the street, driveway, garage, alley and every inch of the backyard are covered. But our guests have no idea they’re being recorded.
Inside the house, members of the online watchdog group Perverted-Justice are in chat rooms posing as young teens. Dateline has paid the organization a consulting fee. The PJ members are pretending to be 12- and 13-year-olds who are interested in sex and whose parents are away.
If a man in a chat room hits on one of the decoys and proposes sex, he’ll be given the address of this house and invited over.
Dateline hired an 18-year-old actress to play the part of the 12- or 13-year-old home alone...and the men seem happy to see her.
