Wild Bill at Passionate America that discovered the name of the former page that received the sexual IMs from Foley has received an email from Jordan Edmunds attorney, Stephen Jones, demanding he pull the story. Wild Bill is looking for advice from any leagal eagles out there.
Hey, Brian, answer this:
"SSP did not get any original emails from a Page or friend of the Page. That is clear because all emails have a date field (magically missing from the SSP creations). The emails at SSP are clearly forgeries that were based on the information in the posession of CREW and ABC News because the text is accurate, just not all the punctuation. And SSP went out of their way to over-copy their faked versions in order to make them look old (a classic naive trick when any electronic file attached to an email or any email forwarded can be printed pristine by the receiver). So the SSP site is a fake as everyone suspected. But who was the source for ABCNews and CREW which redacted so much of the headers on the emails?
So much for investigative report, huh? What a joke.
This is a good example of why everyone should disable automatic return receipts in Outlook and other email clients. Outlook can be set to notify you before returning a receipt. That way, the sender has no evidence you got the email, and forces them to send it by mail, which can then also be avoided. This process alone can gain a would-be defendant days, weeks, even months of time to ignore a would-be plaintiff's demands.
Interesting. Thanks! :-)
If he didn't break any laws while getting readily available and publicly available information, I can't see how he could be held responsible.
Pro Boner?
By that do you mean "anti-Semites"?
I believe when the victim or alleged victim of crimes of a sexual nature is or was a minor, it is illegal to reveal his or her name.
But I'm not lawyer.
This needs more exposure. Everyone should read it.
That e-mail is a bluff.
Thanks for the reference, Victoria. I'm going to read through that whole site tomorrow when I have time.
No it isn't. But there is no such threat in the letter from "Stephen Jones" (or whoever...)
Thanks for posting that link.
The GOP has to do something with it.
No problem.
And they better start soon.
Hmmmm...I'm no lawyer but the term, "Eat sh!t" comes to mind.
You're welcome.
I am hoping the bomb will be dropped soon on the demonrats.
I hope it happens this weekend. I hope Hastert goes to the Sunday News Shows and tell it like it is. Sooner rather than later.
