Wild Bill at Passionate America that discovered the name of the former page that received the sexual IMs from Foley has received an email from Jordan Edmunds attorney, Stephen Jones, demanding he pull the story. Wild Bill is looking for advice from any leagal eagles out there.
Correct.
Thanks for the link.
So Jones reads Passionate America but does not read The Drudge Report?
Let's Email Mark.
Bingo!
That doesn't sound right. I don't know of an attorney that would do something like that via email. Could've come from Edmund himself?
Imagine that--Jordie's lawyer is threatening folks. And just think--when I suggested a few days ago that Jordie was getting a bigshot mouthpiece as an attack dog, I was ridiculed for suggesting that a 'criminal attorney' would be hired for that purpose.
Foley's E-Mails have been ALTERED!!!! OMG!! Deeper and deeper.
Well Im sure Wild Bill can do that himself..I just emailed him offering my help and suggesting he do that....Mark can get on this like a duck on a June bug and really make this interesting...heh
Hmmm....the plot thickens!
Tell him to take it up with ABC...they're the ones who didn't redact the screen name.
WTF good is it going to do now? It's all over the web.
Dear William Kerr and Passionate America:
Please be advised that I represent Jordan Edmund. It is our understanding that you and Passionate American are identifying Mr. Edmund with certain Instant Messages ("IMs"). You have indicated that ABC News mistakenly published these alleged Ims and that you should not have been able to obtain this information. Whether this is true or not is beside the point. Without any foundation or legal permission, you are stating that our client is the person associated with the Ims. Neither ABC News nor Brian Ross have been error free in their reporting in the past. You should not assume that they are correct now. Like all individuals and institutions, they occasionally make mistakes. Therefore, I respectfully demand that you cease any further efforts to identify our client with these alleged Ims and cease publishing such information on Passionate America. Neither you nor Passionate American is authorized to use any photograph of him, his name or his personal information. You should consult with an attorney who is experienced in civil and criminal liability regarding the internet. If you are correct that ABC News should not have released the alleged AOL screen name and that ABC News has risked civil and criminal liability because of the unauthorized release, then your republication of the unauthorized release likewise exposes you to possible liability.
Sincerely,
Stephen Jones

I'm REALLY surprised Wild Bill wasn't offered any $$ to take it down. That's usually how the democrats work---buy 'em off.
Ignore the lawyer. You weren't properly served. He can't touch you.
Sounds like they are going after ABC for the big bucks.
It has to be one or the other.
Well, it could be that he had intended to use it for blackmail, but he probably doesn't want to make that claim either.
YIKES!! Calling Mark Levin!!
"...has received an email ..."
Ignore it. It's email. 'Course, I'm not an attorney.
"Neither ABC News nor Brian Ross have been error free in their reporting in the past. You should not assume that they are correct now."
Well you certainly can't argue with that.
