You all seem to have forgotten the 1st part of the story - it wasn't just kiddie porn the guy was allegedly guily of - the police were called because he was allegedly exposing himself and then the porn was discovered. So, he DOES sound like a real creep!

He had a point. The system is soooooo heavily weighted toward plea bargains that only cases the the DA is hell bent on taking to the max get as far as trial. Yikes!

There are such things as witch hunts and political vendettas.

Even a conviction is not always certain...because the *lawyers* are not "under oath".

Non-inflammatory example--two people were in a civil suit concerning a car wreck. One side got a team of engineers who used computers and Newton's laws of motion to analyze the crash to *prove* mathematically their guy was innocent, the other guy was at fault.

The opposing side's counsel gave his summing-up to the jury:

"Now we all know that the laws of physics are obeyed in the laboratory, but not in rural New Jersey."

He won the case.

Heck, even a left wing nut like Alan Dershowitz admitted in his book that most people on trial for serious crimes are guilty. And that's good enough for me to assume he's guily ON A MESSAGE BOARD, NOT IN A COURT ROOM, and have a little fun with it.
