You don't mean there is a double standard!!Who knew!! One for us and another for the rats, do you GOPJ--heaven forbid!!
Also look how we handled our problems. We threw Foley under the bus immediately rather than drag him through Texas with chains the way the rats do when their guys get caught dirty. At least when you are thrown under the bus you get a good clean end quickly!! Dragging critters behind the demorat pickup(they probably borrowed the DBM sedan) through Texas is cruel and unusual if you get my metaphor!!

The strata-sphere.com has a good piece on the Foley saga and how the info about him was held for months until just the right time to release it,...Now!!
You don't mean they are trying to influence an election with sleeze do you, nahhh the rats wouldn't do that now.
Turns out hurricane Katrina also is mention in foley's "redacted" e-mails.
Don't get me wrong I am not justifying what he did or attempted to do, he's gone and should be but the entire thing stinks and appears to have been a well coordinated setup in my view. More here.

That is because in the eyes and minds of today's left-wing activist "journalists", Republicans have been relegated to political enemy. Simply put, the Drive by Media has, not through corporate fiat or any active decision, but through a lessening of ethical standards across the baby-boomer 1960's era activist mindset of journalists today, individually decided Republicans represent the establishment they protested against and must be fought.

Gathered together in the newspaper's break room, or at the many cocktail parties and wine-sips or coffee shops they attend, they all spout liberal platitudes, believe and echo the same tired talk that they first articulated in the anit-war protests of the late 60's. Every Republican is the MAN, Bull Conner, Richard MILHOUS Nixon, Rush Limbaugh.

You've all seen it. The adoration of Bill Clinton, versus the scorn and derision against Ronald Reagan. Just look at how (aside from Chris Wallace, hehe) Bill Clinton is questioned vice how Ronald Reagan was (remember Sam Donaldson?). Reagan, as the Great Communicator, was able to talk over them, pretend, with a cupped hand over his ear, that he couldn't hear the shouted, spittle-ladened questions, but nevertheless the ATTITUDE of the press was most revealing.

Today the same occurs, but in my not so humble opinion has reached a fever pitch. In her latest column Cynthia Tucker, a very liberal pontificator and Platinum Club member of the HateBushHitler club, says it all: If a GOP-controlled Congress loses in November because its leaders failed to rein in a sexual predator, so be it. But that's hardly the worst crime this bunch has perpetrated against the country.

Now consider what she's saying, in her opening remarks. Basically she's stating that the Republicans are so evil, that ANYTHING used to get them out of power is ok. The end justifies the means.

We could allow such vitriol coming from an OpEd writer, who, after all is paid for her OPINION, no matter how vile, but this attitude permeates the entire liberal left-wing journalistic community of reporters. Not that the corporations who own media outlets have told them to do so, but as a matter of a mindset and groupthink that the journalists generally have that is anti-American, anti-conservative, and anti-Republican.

Their UNDISCIPLINED, UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior has let their distaste for us come out in their reporting. If they'd just report the "who, what, when, where, and how" of yesteryear's professional reporter guide their storylines, all would be fine. But their bias is leaking, oozing, and spilling out in virtually every story, especially if it shows the Republicans in a bad light. If a story would make the Republicans look good, then it is not reported or relegated to page B14.

I once thought Fox News would be an ethical, professional organization that would keep the personal biases of their reporters OUT of the story line, but now see that the angry left has brow-beaten them into behaving like all the others. It is time to consider, if we even have a free press anymore. We don't. Let us strive to be the free press. Right here on Free Republic!

Russert leads by continuing to beat the Foley thing (I can't call this a scandal, maybe a scandalette) further to death. Talent tries to turn the debate to actual issues, but noooo, Timmy wants to talk about getting the investigation out before the election. Talent points out that it comes out when they can get it done.

McCaskell says that when a 50 year old man asks for a teens picture on the internet something needs to be done. She doesn't say what, however.

Chris Wallace started his interview with tthe R congressman by saying the the congressman supported Foley. Luckily, Congressman Kingston knew that Wallace "misspoke" and meant to say 'supported Hastert.'

So Wallace's slip might be classified under the category of Freudian = conflating the two Republicans - Hastert and Foley - into one being.

Why is that relevant in a US SENATE race? Foley was in the House!

Morning Rod, nice to see you back.

I really don't understand why all these MSM hoopla is. I really don't consider David Brooks reasonable to republicans, but it looks like he penned a good column for NYTimes which hides under subscription wall, but Blogress Althouse gives a good take on that.

Mark Steyn is brilliant and he gets it!

We fell into yet another rat trap! The striking difference between how we handle our bad guys and how the rats handle theirs should have been enough to enlighten even the dullest voter.

The fact that Hastert fell into the you better be scared of what the rat/DBM/DNC media has to say about you trickis indeed sad and pathetic.

The rats firmly believe that govt. is the sole answer to every problem society has. They would no doubt opt for a congressional moaning center for those who have molested Paige's funded by zillions of taxpayers funds rather than do what we did so quickly, get rid of Foley immediately.

The rats don't get it! Govt. is the problem not the answer. It's sad the the speaker stepped into yet another rat trap.

He wants to advance the meme that Pubbies are bad and will cover up wrongdoing for political power. He doesn't care whether they had anything to do with it or not.

I remember saying back in the 60s that we had to stop running to the fed gov to solve every problem. I should have known I was a conservative then.

Morning AB, All,

Already I got a problem. This Kingston guy keeps going on and on about x-rated "EMAILS"! Sheesh. The EMAILS were NOT x-rated.

Folks, if the Repubs don't get the story right they only confuse people.

They are INSTANT MESSAGES! The difference is critical. The pubbies knew about the emails, which requested a birth date and picture and were NOT x-rated. The pubbies did NOT know about the IM's. Those were x-rated and were part of a scam set up by Pelosi.

This is so damn important, this differentiation, and the pubbies can't seem to get their spokespeople to get it right.

It's why the pubs lose elections they don't deserve to lose.

Hey, I'm just getting started.

Here 's this sunday's Media Nuggets

###### His wall is is decorated with a citation from the Marines. His sympathies extend to those he sees as being abused or isolated: unborn fetuses, religious Americans, President Bush. He recently issued an edict that any Fox employee who received a journalism award would be terminated on the spot because that means you sold out. He is Fox Chairman Roger Ailes. (Worth reading pages - 1, - 2, - 3 & 4.)

More.... Roger Ailes:

###### "Vanity Fair(Russert's wife's mag) is a left-wing rag".

###### Shepard Smith would beat the broadcast networks if he puts him in news show on Fox's broadcast network. Aren't there enough liberals already?

###### Finally, a journalist ends up where he belongs, as a prisoner in Guantanamo - Al-Jazeera journalist that is.

###### NBC's Richard Engel angers Iraqi govt. & left to Lebanon. NBC then grabs long-time CNN Baghdad Bureau Chief Jane Arraf & makes her the new NBC/MSNBC Baghdad Bureau Chief, while other staffers are fearing about their future.

###### Value of TV Stations to 'Decline' -> The value of television station assets will decline as younger viewers, who spend more time online, become the most powerful user of media.

###### Dana Milbank of the Washington Post taking six months leave to write a book. Meanwhile, LATimes axes it's Publisher & hires Reason editor Tim Cavanaugh as Opinion editor.

###### FNC moves Bob Sellers(conservative) & Rick Folbaum to local FOX 5 channel. Freelance camera man Olaf Wiig becomes permanent Fox employee. Jane Hall (contract breacher) agree to appear as UNPAID contributor(!) & Re-signed. Fox news opinion dynamics poll(ster) renewed contract for 2 more years.

###### Liberal (&MSM) mantra - Pregnent mother carrying 3 month old is "fetus", NOT "baby" - except when it 's their own.

###### Andree Dean, mother of Howard Dean is an avid reader of NOT NYTimes, but (Conservative)NYSun.

###### Senator James Inhofe calls CNN-Miles O'Brien's Bluff on CNN-American Morning.

###### Ratherism is still alive @ C...BS .

###### Mel Gibson is a hot get since he talked against Iraq war & the President. Diane Sawyer books him on GMA for 2 days(October 12 & 13).

Excellent link anita, pointing to the obvious double standard. the monologue play is clelbrfated while Foley gets canned, no surprise there.
I have often wondered if the Foley thing would even have made news had he been a dem instead of a pubbie, somehow I doubt it.

Or the headline writer puts the rebuttal in the headline or the sub-head. Lots of subheads these days even have the word 'BUT' in them.

Talent is doing an excellent job explaining the successes of the war in Iraq, and what the consequences of leaving Saddam there would have been.
