4. They often have hyper-masculine or other sexual auras
A politician is a salesman who is selling himself as the product. The strong and distinctive voice, from Roosevelt to JFK to Clinton, is a testament to the power of a strong masculine aura. America adores its combat heros; it's the reason why former Generals get elected President. It's the reason why an actor with practically no prior government related experience can beat an incumbent on a recall for the highest position in the California state legislature. The gamblin', rough-and-ready cowboy is in every young American boy's imagination and every young female's heart.

Excellent article...and strong evidence why Hillary will never become President except by freak of nature.
charisma isn't a crime. it's what one does with it that defines that.
"The strong and distinctive voice, from Roosevelt to JFK to Clinton, is a testament to the power of a strong masculine aura"
Lost credibility at this point. Clinton?
Funny, that was precisely the same point I thought the author is a dem hack and apologist who knows nothing about which he/she is writing. Quit reading right there. Clinton is the antithesis of a "strong and distinctive voice."
Author is libertarian.
I love how close minded people can be. They are reading a convincing article but as soon as they read one thing they don't agree with they immediately stop and claim the entire article is BS.
President Clinton obtained two consecutive terms despite a record that accomplished little. He held his Presidency despite performing acts that deeply embarassed his own party. And most of what he accomplished, such as welfare reform, was more right-wing than left, despite the love from his lefty supporters.
I don't think it's a bad thing to admit that he had charisma, and that charisma was what made his career.
Understand, this does not make him a good man. It just means he has the ability to charm and persuade people. I don't think any reasonable person can say Bill Clinton, for all of his faults, ever lacked that ability.

This should give you a pretty good idea of one of the main reasons for the decline of rhetoric and eloquence in our politics.
With everything reduced to five minutes worth of bullet points, in-depth thought is impossible.

Welcome to free republic.
As far as Bill Clinton. Every event was staged, almost every word was scripted (I wonder about the Chris Wallace interview though). So who really knows if Clinton remembers whatever from years back. He has "people for that" that whisper in his ear.
I met Clinton once, he seemed to be nothing more than a good used car salesman. Being around him once was enough.
This guy loves Clinton, but does he say anything else?
Strong voice? That's a real fantasy.
I don't connect being a schmoozer with possessing charisma. To me, Clinton was just slimey.
I agree with you. I never met him personally, but I know many people who have. All of them agree on his incredible magnetism.
Charisma is not a strong masculine aura.
The same was said about another psychopath: Ted Bundy.
