Well, they banned him for being a retread, not the post. I am sure there is no problem in posting bad news and I did not see anything wrong with the post, like changing the headline. That is why I rely on FR as my primary news source - I get it all here - some very bad indeed.

Ignoring bad news doesn't make it go away.
I trust the American people to make informed decisions---but first we must be informed.
I fought in the first Gulf War and came away from that experience knowing that most of the people there like their condition and lot in life. They complained about it, but they wouldn't budge an inch in favor of western style government. I knew then that they actually wanted Sharia law, public beheadings and unreal social barbarity. Since then I'd developed a sense that maybe the Iraqi's themselves wanted real change. I supported this war when it started. I was wrong. I have now returned to the understanding I had then: ISLAM TRUMPS ALL. If Islam is brutal, murderous and savage, then that is what will reign.
The small minority of people there that want democracy and genuine freedom are noble people. I respect and applaud their courage. I am also fairly confident that in 10, 15, 20 years Iraq will be ruled by Islamic fascist who have no other goal than to destroy the country that once tried to give them freedom but vastly overestimated their desire for freedom.
I'm sure I'll get flamed left and right for these comments. I'm waiting for the Iraqi people to prove me wrong.
I agree with your assessment, but I find your timeline a little optimistic.
Actually, I agree. I was trying to be generous. Your thoughts are probably more accurate.
I agree. If it were up to me we'd be totally disengaged from the Middle East in less than 20 years (including oil dependence.) Once that happened I would issue a message: Screw with us again and we won't be so nice next time.
I've been reading about the discovery of 60 bodies in Bagdad for a week now. There were sixty found two weeks ago. I wonder if they are the same 60 bodies that someone asked an official about. The articles never say where in Bagdad, etc. Are they finding sixty bodies every day, or was it just one day they found them? It's the same with the car bombs. IMO, they seem to be picking the same story up over and over again. One car bomb appears to be ten, and sixty bodies appears to be six hundred.
