ABC isn't stopping their all-Mark Foley-all-the-time mantra - this story is on the front page of their website. As usual, they cite unnamed sources, making it impossible for anyone to gauge their credibility.

This is starting to look like ABC's version of the New York Times' Abu Ghraibing before the 2004 election.

The MSM is doing their level best to make something out of nothing. And they wonder why they're dying.

I trust Ginny Brown-Waite that this dormitory story is true.

Now, that isn't a reason to go out and vote Democrat. But I don't see any reason to deny the truth.

Well, I am glad we are back to real news after that pesky rogue state nuclear bomb thing. That was so distracting.

Mark Foley's questionable behavior

Yeah, he's almost as bad as Gerry Studds. And look what happened to the leadership that didn't stop HIM!

I thought it was a nice touch for Hastert to hold his presser today in front of a cemetery.

Can we get rid of the page program already? What a useless and dangerous anachronism that is.

IMHO we ought to dissolve the whole doggone page program right after the election is over.

What kind of parent sends their kid to live in the middle of a bunch of congress critters anyway?

Why do they think it's called "congress?"

And if the kid comes back from Washington buggered,

Well, why should he be different than anybody else?

Foley's Reputed Visit to the Page Dormitory

I don't believe that Foley would have been STUPID enough to 'visit the Page Dormitory'.

What was he doing out there? Throwing pebbles at the windows? Holding a boom box over his head, playing "In Your Eyes" and swaying to the beat? What?

Funniest part of this story is that McCain wants some respectable former Congressfolks to investigate this matter. lol I don't think there are any such critters.

Just a thought ................. I wonder who these pages were?

May 1, 2002

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Eleven high school-age pages in the House of Representatives were dismissed this week after they were caught with marijuana in their Capitol Hill dormitory, two congressional leadership aides said.

The pages were dismissed under a "zero tolerance" policy by the House Page Board, which oversees the page program.

The situation was "handled administratively" and "not handled as a criminal matter," according to a U.S. Capitol Police spokesman.

The 11 pages were all nominated to their positions by Republican members, one aide said.

The nominations are based on merit including grades and recommendations.

Details were sketchy, but aides said problems started for the pages when they went unsupervised to the Washington area home of one of the pages. After they smoked pot there they returned to the dorm with the drugs, the aides said.

A roommate of one of the pages turned them in.

The pages, who attend a special school for them, come from around the country to handle various administrative duties on the House floor and around the Hill.

They wear uniforms consisting of blue blazers and gray flannel pants or skirts.

Tried to get into a dorm?

I wonder what Ted Kennedy has tried through the years after a fifth of scotch.

What will be the most telling is how this story will all but vanish after election day. I recall in 2004 when the NYT was raising hell about the missing munitions in Iraq like it was the worst thing ever. Funny how after the election it wasn't so important. As a matter of fact we haven't heard about it since.

Huh. For a supposed sex predator Foley seems pretty ineffectual. Naughty IM's and an alleged drunken approach to the dorm are pretty sleazy, to be sure, but you need to actually do something in D.C. to get slapped down if you're a Congressman.

Now, if he actually took physical advantage of an underage page then I'd be for jailing the sumbitch. If he did and the Dems are concealing the evidence then I'm thinking the jail time needs to be spread around a little.
