In an election for United States Senator from Ohio today, 10/12/2006, Democrat Sherrod Brown defeats incumbent Republican Mike DeWine, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WCPO-TV Cincinnati, WKYC-TV Cleveland, and WYTV-TV Youngstown. Brown, who represents Ohio's 13th District in Congress, unseats DeWine, 54% to 40% in a vote today.

I guess you all in the DNC basement are panicking.
Should have turned him out with a conservative Republican in the primaries.
DeWhine and Brown are a horse-race. With the expected ballot stuffing (absentee/ACORN), Brown is touted as the front-runner in all the Liberal Media and polls. It will be very close.....Sherrod Brown is another Kucinich.
Primaries are over dude, but go ahead and support red diaper Brown, with your perfection rhetoric.
And it's an overweighted Dem poll anyways.
Mike DeRINO.
DeWine will win.
LLS
It's not in my hands, and you have your choice of any number of people who fall short of being conservative who are head and shoulders above DeWine before you have to worry about "perfection".
You want New York politics in Ohio...then you want DeWine. If you don't want the choices we have (liberal ex-Democrats in the Republican Party vs. liberal Democrats in the Democratic Party), you'll have to learn from the mistakes made here.
Thank you for that comment, nancy pelosi/pat buchanan
Ohio is just not the type of state that one side or other can win statewide by more than 6 or so points.

OH LOL! Where I have heard this before.
Oh yes in 92(i.e how much damage can the Clintons do, etc.etc.)
You carvillelites should get a new playbook, the present one is dated.
Barring another, more effective, October Surprise from the RATS, I agree.
Just the contrary. Even if DeWine is going down, he has to get out there and campaign because of all the down-ticket implications. I am thinking of Bob Dole and 1996, when he closed the gap significantly, although he lost, and enabled the Republicans to keep their majorities in Congress, etc.
To the contrary, President Bush is out there.
Oh yeah and for historical perspective, despite Bob Dole's lackluster campaign, the GOP picked up 2 Senate seats in 96(the year of the media described clinton "landslide", where clinton had 49% of the vote, and by most objective perview is not a landslide)
Of course Dewhine is going to lose. He cozied up to the liberals for years. Now he wants conservatives to back him. Sorry, Mike.
And in your other words, kjo thanks harry reid.
Dewhino would be winning if he wasn't such a suck-up rino
Look, I'm sick and tired of having these liberals run as conservatives and get to congress and be the liberals they are.
If the GOP loses the House it will be because they turned their back on the Contract With America. They could have abolished the executive wash room, instead they just changed the lock on the door.
Bush will have to fight Democratic impeachment attempts for the next two years, I know that; still, the Republican Party brought this on themselves.
