Stocks Close Higher As Dow Sets Another Record Close

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Dow Jones industrial average inched to another record close Friday to mark the third straight week of triple-digit increases in the blue chip index.

The Dow spent much of a quiet session Friday in the red following a strong surge Thursday in which the Dow broke through 11,900 for the first time to set closing and trading highs. Thursday's advance came amid optimism over the health of corporate earnings and put the Dow 12,000 benchmark within investors' sights.

According to preliminary figures, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 12.81, or 0.11 percent, to 11,960.51, passing the record close of 11,947.70 set Thursday.

Broader stock indicators also advanced. The Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 2.79, or 0.20 percent, at 1,365.62 and the Nasdaq composite index was up 11.11, or 0.47 percent, at 2,357.29.

The writer at Yahoo/AP buried the actual close of 11,960.51 in the next to last paragraph.

This has to be ripping the stomachs of the rats as they watch the worse economy since Hoover set record after record.

There was a lot of selling to prevent this gain, but the bulls over ran the liberal losers to register another high for the Dow, 11,960.51.

Or. Overheated stock market plus exuberant consumer confidence causes big concerns re rampant inflation.

Unemployed MSM employers, women, children and illegal aliens will hurt the worst with the upcoming fierce inflation.

Put all Demagogues on suicide watch!!!

They are all in serious danger of complete despair and derangement in the next 3 weeks as all of their ranting raving fantasies turn to dust........

They should not be left alone with any weapons or children because they can no longer be trusted to control their outbursts of rage and depravity.....

My coworker here said that the Dow is NOT a good measure of the economy as most investors do not invest in those particular stocks.

It's hard to be a liberal these days.

Come on Dave, you know only rich white guys can afford to be in the markets.
It's another case of the rich getting richer on the back of the poor underclass
created by the evil Bush and his Haliburton buddies.

Seems some conservatives think Yahoo/AP is some kind of credible source of truthful news....?

Maybe should sell them some ocean-front property in Arizona???

As long as they don't have weapons that can hurt innocent children and adults, let them do into themselves, what they would do to our President.

the Dow is NOT a good measure of the economy

For the libs, it's only a good measure if it happens to have a down day.

If those co workers have a 401k they will have at least one fund that owns about half or more of the Dow.

The Dow impacts the S&P 500 and many other indexes.

Last but not least is the high water bouy effect the Dow has on the other indexes. Often when it goes up the other indexes come up the next day. Many of the other indexes had a really good day today to tie into the Dow's really good day yesterday.

When a liberal makes the rant your liberals are giving you, I tell them please don't invest in the market, keep aborting your dna and last but not least send any survivors to a NEA school.
