Horowitz/Poe: The Shadow Party
California Republic ^ | 10/13/06 | Richard Kirk

Posted on 10/16/2006 2:15:15 AM PDT by tgambill

A month after John Kerry’s narrow loss to George W. Bush in 2004’s Presidential election, Eli Pariser boasted to his MoveOn associates, “Now it’s our party. We bought it. We own it.” The huge question raised by this audacious declaration was, “Who are ‘we’?” That query is answered in David Horowitz and Richard Poe’s new book, The Shadow Party—a work that also explains how this political takeover was accomplished. In the authors’ own words, “This book documents how, through an extraordinary series of political, legal, and financial maneuvers, an unlikely network of radical activists and activist billionaires gained de facto control over the Democratic Party’s campaign apparatus….”

The eminence grise lurking behind these machinations was and is George Soros, the billionaire financier and founder of the Open Society Institute. It was Soros who declared in November, 2003, that defeating President Bush was “the central focus of [his] life” and “a matter of life and death”—then devoted twenty-seven million dollars to accomplish that goal during the 2004 campaign cycle

THE LATEST SOROS DIRTY SCHEME:

George Soros and the World Government Lobby Hired a Crook to Sabotage John Bolton’s Nomination to the U.N.

[snip]
But what has not been known until now is that an organization associated with billionaire leftist and convicted inside trader George Soros had hired a controversial Democratic Party political consultant to help organize its campaign against Bolton. This consultant, Robert B. Creamer, was under indictment at the time and subsequently pleaded guilty to federal bank fraud and tax charges. On April 5, he was sentenced to five months in prison and is currently serving time in the Terra Haute Federal Correctional Institute.

What’s more, Creamer is married to liberal Democratic Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who serves in the House Democratic leadership as Chief Deputy Whip. A supporter of Howard Dean's presidential campaign, one of her websites features photos of her with comedian and political activist Al Franken.[2]

Schakowsky had steadfastly maintained her husband’s innocence. After his guilty plea, she declared that, "In my heart, I know that these mistakes do not define or diminish this good man, or the good work that he has done over the last 40 years or that he will do in the future.” [3]

In fact, as noted by CBS 2 Chicago in a report on this matter, Creamer paid himself a six-figure salary “while leaving several banks holding the bag” because of his check-kiting schemes.

This time, the anti-Bolton forces have called on their allies in the media, such as Warren Hoge of the New York Times, who wrote a July 23 article citing anonymous sources at the U.N. as saying Bolton is too difficult to work with. Liberal Senator Chris Dodd immediately cited this story as evidence that Bolton should be defeated!

Bolton’s opposition to world government and global taxes is needed now more than ever. As our recent reports indicate (please go to www.stopglobaltaxes.org), the latest efforts to pass global taxes involve exploiting the health problem known as AIDS. By using an issue like this, which inspires caring and compassion, it is anticipated that opposition to global taxes can be eliminated. It is being said that the problem is such -- and so much money is needed to treat victims – that global taxes will have to be put on the table. In fact, at the September U.N. General Assembly meeting, the entity known as UNITAID is being officially launched. This is the receptacle for global tax revenue to finance pharmaceutical drug purchases being generated by an international tax on airline travel.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that billionaire George Soros, a prominent supporter of global taxes and convicted inside trader, has increased his stake in the stocks of various pharmaceutical companies that may benefit from this scheme. The most recent report by Soros Fund Management LLC shows new or bigger stakes in several pharmaceutical companies, Reuters reported on August 14. [4]

So there are those posting on FR who would seem to be part of that underground government or at least support the players.

No surprise there. Just surprised they'd be acknowledging it here.

Soros is behind IMO a lot of things. The oil run up?

If Soros ran up oil in the face of five year high inventories, then who ran it down just in time for the election?

I am not positive as I don't participate in the commodities markets, but I think you can sell commodities short.

Money made on the run up and downturn in prices.

The end of summer made the bet on lowered prices an easy choice.

Usually the DUmmies are hitting and running when they post here. This posting of an article of such importance, (altho freepers were already aware of Soros' evil influence) is not their usual ploy.

The haters were counting on a serious hurricane to disrupt oil supplies long enough to keep the prices HIGH all the way to election day.

Fortunately, we had a bit of help from Mother Nature.

I am hoping that the President can issue an executive order and make sure that Bolton remains our Ambassador till the end of the President's term in office.

Congressman John E. Rankin said: "The United Nations is the greatest fraud in all history. Its purpose is to destroy the United States." As long as prominent members of our government tout the United Nations as being the only way for lasting peace, then the propaganda will continue to grow, and we will become more desensitized to the campaign that continues to slowly take away the freedoms that our forefathers fought and died for. While campaigning for the Presidency, Bill Clinton said: "My vision is that we would become an instrument working as much as possible through the United Nations for freedom and democracy and human rights and global economic growth." In a speech to the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles, Clinton called for a permanent UN "rapid deployment force." Richard Gardner, a Clinton advisor on the UN, and a professor of international law, has outlined a plan for a world army of 30,000 men. The five member nations of the Security Council would provide 2,000 men, and 30 other nations would add up to 750 each. This would create a military force that the Security Council could deploy within 48 hours to maintain the peace.

President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.

"We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent." Statement by Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member James Warburg to The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 17th, l950.

"The real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, state and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of a self created screen....At the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both political parties." New York City Mayor John F. Hylan, 1922.

"The most powerful clique in these (CFR) groups have one objective in common: they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty and the national independence of the U.S. They want to end national boundaries and racial and ethnic loyalties supposedly to increase business and ensure world peace. What they strive for would inevitably lead to dictatorship and loss of freedoms by the people. The CFR was founded for "the purpose of promoting disarmament and submergence of U.S. sovereignty and national independence into an all-powerful one-world government." Harpers, July l958

'Karl Rove's Evil Weather Machine' directed all hurricanes away this year to help keep the price of gas down before the election for the benefit of the administration.

There is no doubt that some who post here and at Townhall are leftists. But here is the funny part- many are not what THEY seem either. Many are college students or "work-at-home" mommy-types, being paid by leftist orgs. to come on these sites and stir up trouble and monitor what is being said.

Most of these, and I have met one or two, THINK they know what they believe in, but are essentially clueless. The "war hurts kids and other living things" mindset is alive and well in most of these people and facts are in short supply.

Mario Cuomo in 1994 after the election results came in let it slip out of his lame liberal lips, “It used to be that the shepherds lead the sheep ....... now the sheep are leading the shepherds.”

Says a lot.

Thank you for the ping.

I agree with the observation made on this thread to the effect that Horwitz is endued both by intelligence and by experience to tear away the veils which obscure the dark realities of the left. Add to that the Transylvania-like fascination which surrounds Soros and you have the stuff of a walloping good conspiracy thriller. Normally I would shun the admittedly tantalizing temptations to run down the path's of intrigue and high-stakes conspiracy which undoubtedly could be indulged in any exposé of George Soros. I would shun the temptation because conspiracy theories are almost always wrong. But this time I'm not so sure. First, because the article lays out that there are many threads convincingly pointing to George Soros as puppeteer and one gets to the puppeteer by following the threads, that is, by following the money.

There is another factor which prompts me to keep an open mind despite the shadows of conspiracy alluded to in the article: everything Soros and his wholly owned subsidiaries have done are fully congruent with the motives and methods perfected by THE FRANKFURT SCHOOL.

So, because we can have confidence in the authors, because we should be suspicious of this Goldfinger, because the authors say the money trail points to Soros, because the MO comes chapter and verse from the syllabus of THE FRANKFURT SCHOOL, and because if such a conspiracy exists it poses the gravest risks to our republic and to our democracy, I think we must take a very close look at these allegations.

As a villain, Soros is almost too good to be true. He is certainly transnational; he has no affinity for, or stake in any single country. He is too elegant to be patriotic. He is too cerebral to love a country. He doesn't support countries, he breaks them. Soros is not confined to geography he has to do with principles, he is larger than patriotism, too big for national boundaries, too visionary for petty national interest. Nations, currencies, governments are but his playthings.

George Soros is arrogant.

But to say that George Soros is arrogant is to overburden the word. He is arrogance made flesh. He strides the earth as arrogance personified. Dr. No? Goldfinger? These villains are not arrogant enough to share the world stage with George Soros. As arrogance is the cardinal sin of all mankind and the very expression of the devil himself, George Soros is magnificent in his arrogance. He is Satanic.

Have I indulged in hyperbole? You judge, but while you do consider how Soros's character fits into this conspiracy theory.
