Conservative Fox News commentator Sean Hannity will be the "special guest" Oct. 26 at a fund-raiser for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Don't tell Democrats who have embraced Schwarzenegger this year after he raised the minimum wage, signed legislation curbing global warming, and actively courted the Democratic Legislature.
The event at the Sheraton Grand in Sacramento costs $1,000 per person, but "platinum" sponsors can pay $100,000. Platinum sponsors listed on the invitation (at left and below) are Chevron executive Jack Coffey; developer Gerry Kamilos and his wife, Karen; and McDonald's franchise owner C.C. Yin and his wife, Regina.
Hannity has been a frequent cheerleader for the Republican governor and a constant thorn to some liberals who see him and this is not too over-the-top as the devil. During last year's special election, Hannity sat down with Schwarzenegger for an interview that included such questions as, "Is it still the greatest job you've ever had?"
Perhaps Hannity and Schwarzenegger can talk about global warming at the fund-raiser.
In a Fox News segment on Al Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth" which by the way, Schwarzenegger loved so much he sought out Gore's autograph Hannity asked his viewers: "Does global warming exist or is this just a liberal scare tactic? ... It's so overtly political, it's so overtly full of scare tactics. It's Al Gore screaming...at the top of his lungs that George Bush has betrayed his country. I just think the man has gone over the edge."

Please try to keep it real in the midst of all your irrational rationalizations, will ya??? This is a waste of what was a reasonably good talk host! This ranks right up there with Michael Savage giving money to Jerry Brown because he's never heard of Chuck P!!!
Which ones? Abortion? Gay Marriage? Euthanasia? Human Cloning? Those are social public policy issues. There is no way you cannot take a public stance on any of them except to support or oppose them. To say you don't care tells me that you have already made that choice.
How will Arnold claim such a mandate when it will be truthfully argued by the Dems and the media that Arnold campaigned and governed successfully by backing off and accommodating the Dems?
You must not have been following CA politics.
Arnold has done a lot of conservative things, nobody could have done more, under the circumstances, having to deal with the far leftist Legislature AND voters who don't bother to come out and vote for his conservative reform propositions, that took on the unions, wanted to put limits on spending and wanted to take redistricting away from politicians. Not to mention that Arnold refused to raise taxes, despite Dem pressure, he pushed through a business friendly workers comp bill, he vetoed drivers licenses for illegals, vetoed homosexual marriage, vetoed universal goverment run healthcare.
Angelides would have made the opposite choices.
Conservatives shouls get down on their knees and thank God that we have Arnold as governor and not Bustamante and need to make sure we don't get Angelides.
Arnold also has coat tails, the downticket races are competitive, because of him, potentially helping Republicans get elected.
"Which ones? Abortion? Gay Marriage? Euthanasia? Human Cloning? Those are social public policy issues."
Please tell us, which of the above listed issues do you consider the Dems, especially Dems in CA to have a position that is closer to a conservative position, than Republicans?
Not to mention, that Arnold vetoed homosexual marriage, while Angelides said he will sign it.
Are you trying to tell us, that conservatives, even conservatives with impeccable conservative credentials, like Tom McC and Hannity are either sellouts or not real conservatives, BUT "conservatives" who want to see Arnold defeated, and thereby a Marxist, leftist, socialist Angelides elected are "real conservatives".
You must have a funny definition of conservatives.
I think it's time for a repost of bd476's excellent analogy, for those who keep railing against Arnold, when we are faced with using it all, if Angelides would get elected:

Recently a man went to his ophthalmologist for an eye checkup.
After thoroughly examining the man's eyes, the ophthalmologist said, "Well, I have some bad news and some good news for you. The bad news is that you have glaucoma in both eyes."
The man said: "That's terrible news, Doctor! Glaucoma means I'm going blind! Please, give me the good news!"
The ophthalmologist responded: "The good news is that you have the type of glaucoma which can be treated with the use of prescription eye drops used daily. You will be able to save your vision if you follow my directions and use the eye drops every day."
The man responded: "That's not good news, Doctor, that's bad news! Prescription medications cost too much. I don't like taking medications!"
The man continued: "Daily eye drops would be an inconvenience. Those eye drops will probably sting. There might be other side effects. If using eye drops is the only way to save my vision, then I prefer to go blind. Who needs to see anyway?!"
There is none so blind as they that wont see.

I didn't say "want to see Arnold defeated". I could just understand being apathetic as regards the Governor's race.
Looks like you've got the thread all to yourself now with your steaming pile of irrational rationalizations. Your browbeating has absolutely no effect here that you deem desirable. Why don't you just give it a rest?
I think it's really great that Hannity is fundraising for Arnold. In addition to the money, he is demonstrating that conservatives DO support Arnold.
"You are either with us, or against us"
Tsk, tsk, poor ilk! Your herd must be mightily distressed.
I'm personally opposed to all the things you have listed. None of them impact my vote for any particular candidate though. For me it comes down to economics (free markets), pro second amendment and support of our military, among a few others. All social issues for me are down in the noise level when it comes for whom I will cast a vote.
State ballot issues are a different story. Here in Colorado we have two state initiatives that will allow civil unions for men who have sex with other men and ban marriage for men who have sex with other men. I'll vote against the civil unions and for the amendment to decree that a officially recognized marriage is between a man and a woman. My vote has nothing to do with religious beliefs either. Men having sex with other men is sick and disgusting so I'll vote against that behaviour in this election and any initiatives that come before the electorate here in the future.
Back to Arnold, if he were to somehow have the opportunity to run for President of this country I'd support him if he were to make it out of the GOP primary process. A candidate like Mitt Romney or George Allen would be my first choice, but I personally like 'The Terminator' and think he'd make for a great President of this country.
Another dead maggot. yuk.
Woo hoo!! Time for a clean sweep!! Knock the Democraps out for the next 40 years!!

AMEN to that! I really do think that turnout will be what decides the election and Republicans do have an excellent chance, IF Republicans, conservatives, sensible moderates will turn out and vote straight Republican ticket, instead of staying home or voting third party.
VOTE VOTE VOTE REPUBLICAN!
In California, the issues are mostly fiscal of late. And our very own party (R) and/or governor (R) have been applauding record spending and record borrowing, record increases in education funding, funding more social programs, increased regulation to fight global warming, taxpayer subsidies to envirowackos, multimillion acre land grabs, etc. Please don't try to paint those California conservatives who are not all that pleased with the current situation as some sort of right-wing social activists.
He doesn't need a mandate--he needs a spine and the will. The last three years have shown he has neither.
I'm not painting anyone. Just stating my general position so the other person knows where I'm coming from.
