We should see this comparison any minute on the Dummies forum. It will take 2 weeks for them to find out where Berlin is and why there was a wall.

Well, another key difference is that a 700 mile fence on a 1300 mile border will not be effective, and isn't even INTENDED to be effective, at keeping out the people it is putatively built to keep out.
The Berlin Wall and East German border fence was extremely effective.
