Sounds like the exist polling for the presidential race in 2004. By 3pm that day, Kerry had already won in a landslide. LOL!!!!!!!!

Yes. The DBM touted all the polls looking horrendous for Pres. Bush and Republicans, and IIRC there was all the same hand wringing from conservatives.

I am not particularly optimistic about the chances of the Republicans. Especially with the news that we plan to cut and run out of Iraq just like the Democrats! A major change in direction in Iraq means to me that we lost (again).

Although we carried out a brilliant campaign to "conquer Iraq" and capture Saddam, our followup has been abysmal. We lack common sense in connection with using our technology to ensure minimal casualties. That is, we have multiple layers of complex rules of engagement where we punish our own to the delight of the enemy (Pendleton 8 & others); we refuse to use our technology to minimize our own casualities (MOAB, failure to bomb certain buildings being used for weapons storage, and places for the enemy to hide), reconnoiter policies, interrogation policies, etc. IMO, the last time we won a war was in 1945. It looks like the Republicans believe that a police action is more appropriate to fight this war; the Republicans are gravitating toward One-World government and ceding our sovereignty.

IMO, the war would be over if we had decisively gone in there. Now we admit we have another Vietnam. I am disheartened and depressed.

The MSM has its marching orders. Of course, they never saw the Republican win in 1994 coming.

But, the lefties pull this same bs/propaganda campaign/routine before "every" election. What's new? Meanwhile, Iran is threatening the US with their impending nuke capability, N. Korea is threatening to supply Iran with nukes in the interim, and the Iraq situation is heating up, no doubt due to the desire of the terrorists to help their fellow compadres in the DNC get elected. Even the terrorists are bright enough to know if the DemRats win big this November, they'll keep Bush so busy with impeachment proceedings that he'll be hamstrung re: fighting terrorism.

The clear question is, which party does most of mainstream Americans want to have control of the country at a time like this? (Hint: it ain't the Cut&Run, terrorist appeasing/prosecuting DemRats).

___
I just watched Tim Russert and Matt Lauer tout the numbers, the worst ever in the history of the planet to hear them tell it. "perfect storm" "Category 5 election" "the pot is boiling over with bad news for republicans.

I think you need look at the big picture. I have been trying to impress upon people that the security situation in Iraq will be resolved once the Iranian strategic issue is resolved.

Election day is the key. I have yet to see anything other than a general poll and a few specific polls. That is meaningless if they are polling people that can't vote in that specific election. I would love to see a district by district map with projected winners.

Didn't this same bunch say the same thing prior to the LAST election?

And the mid-term before that. So that makes them 0 for 2 in their prediction that the party in power would lose control of the Congressional majority.

I hate to say it, but they're setting up the scenario of "stolen election" again. If they don't win, as they've predicted themselves to do, it's going to get "messy."

Yes, but we have to make sure that these blind squirrels don't find their nuts.

But when it gets down to the nut cutting, will they actually vote for a Democrat? I don't think they can bring themselves to that point of insanity or anger.

No, but they CAN stay home, and that is what the Media Manipulation is all about.

The poll, which was taken of 1,006 registered voters from Oct. 13-16

Funny how these stories never list the days of the week - THAT WAS A WEEKEND! Most of us normal people were out living our lives, shopping, working around the house, attending sporting events.

To respond to this poll, you have to be: a) at home on a weekend

b) still using a landline for most of your calls

c) not using Caller ID because you can't understand it, can't read the small numbers through your bifocals or will talk to any old person who rings up

d) willing to participate

e) actually want to sit through the entire boring thing

Who might fit that bill? I'm going to go out on a very thick limb here and say senior citizens and sit-around-the-house types and anyone else who might think FDR will be on the ballot next month.

Rove hasn't even unleashed HIS October Surprise yet!

If he has one, he'd better spring it, as the month is running out. I don't think he has one. If he has any "surprise", I think he is counting on the grassroots to provide him with a November Surprise (perhaps, turnout?).

I don't wish to promote false hope but there are a couple of things that I wish to point out.

The first is obvious and that is that conservatives are woefully under represented in many of these polls especially the ones concerning Presidential approval. Many conservatives are less enthusiastic about the President and the Republican led congress but even more so they are upset at the media. I think that while there are less conservatives that are willing to be identified as "Republicans" this is not indidicitive that these conservatives will vote Democrat or stay home. This is the assumption that the media is opperating on. That the most passionate conservatives will leave their soldiers and the economy in the hands of hate America first big tax Democrats?

The second is that polls when polarization is high become less reliable indicators of the populace. Blue areas become bluer and red areas become redder. Each race is an individual microcosm and one thing that hasn't happen is the nationalization of this election against Republicans. The media has been trying to put the nails in that coffin for Republicans but it just isn't so. The latest round of polls also show Republicans locally starting to recover ground. Steele has pulled even with Cardin, Corker has pulled ahead of Ford, Talent is running ahead of McCaskil and Keane is back in the lead over Menendez.

The GOP can still win this and send the Democrats home to their mommas. This election in these last two weeks will have to be fought hand to hand and hard but if the Republicans take the gloves off and hit the liberal Democrats who only win while in stealth mode with everything they have they can destory them. This election is not nearly over.

Rove's got a plan - life is good.

I really hope that's true. If ever Rove needed to live up to his reputation, NOW is the time. My best hope is that the dem voters are so secure about a win that they fail to show up. And that the GOP voters are so riled up that they turn out in droves.

Just be prepared if the GOP holds on to both houses. There will be such an outcry of voter fraud and computer hacking that it will make the last election's protests look like a 'tea party'.

God Bless America...and God help us if we lose.

"Big Democratic wins likely on Election Day"

Well, there you go. It's over.

Everyone please report to the nearest indoctrination camp for re-education. Drop off your weapons at the recycling center so they may be melted down and bring your money so the Marxist collective can redistribute it.
