Big Democratic wins likely on Election Day
MSNBC ^ | 18 October 2006 | Mark Murray

WASHINGTON - Just 20 days until Election Day, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds approval of the GOP-held Congress is at its lowest mark in 14 years, the Republican Party's favorability rating is at an all-time low and President George W. Bush's approval rating remains mired in the 30s -- all ominous signs for a party trying to maintain control of Congress.

In fact, according to the poll, Republicans are in worse shape on some key measures than Democrats were in 1994, when they lost their congressional majorities.

"The poll, which was taken of 1,006 registered voters from Oct. 13-16 and has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points, comes a few weeks after Republicans encountered a series of setbacks, including the release of an intelligence estimate calling the Iraq war a "cause célèbre" for Islamic militants, journalist Bob Woodward's unfavorable portrayal of the Bush administration's handling of Iraq, and the news that former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., had inappropriate correspondence with teenage congressional pages. "

I think I read a story with a similar headline about how the Yankees were poised for a big win over the Tigers.

The gop will remain in control.

It's the Demoncrats that are hysterical over that. They are out of control with fantastical spin. They WANT to see themselves in control. It's the Demoncrats that are out of control. It doesn't matter how many times or how many ways they print lies and make false predictions, they won't get control. Just like other elections, you'll be lead to beleive they will win all by a landslide. Just WHEN have their ridiculous predictions come true? They don't because they are out there. Their HATRED has blinded them of reality.

Well in three weeks they'll either cripple themselves patting themselves on the back or be eating a mountain of crow.

I'm not voting against my congress critter because of a national poll.

Wouldn't you like to know the zip code that was polled?

I have the feeling that the MSM is just setting the stage for the 'Republican's stole the election with voter fraud' liberal whining that is going to come when all these predictions don't pan out. The libs will all be fore-armed with pre-election poll "proof" that the election was stolen.

FOX reported yesterday that most of the Sainted Polls that are being spouted were SLANTED by the Pollsters talking to WAY MORE Democrats than Republicans. So...don't panic! I believe Rove and Bush when they say we will win. Rove hasn't even unleashed HIS October Surprise yet!

Guess I'll just stay home then,...

Ha, ha, ha,...if we tried these same suppression tricks on the donks every 2 years I bet they couldn't figure it out. I'm afraid they are a lot more desperate than I thought.

"I'm not voting against my congress critter because of a national poll." BINGO, Give the man a cigar. . .

Folks don't forget, this is 435 individual elections. Unless you poll each district the data is meaningless.

They give a lot of impressive sounding data, but, in the real world it is worthless.

BTW, I just mailed my absentee ballot this morning and will be waiting for election day.
