WASHINGTON -- House Intelligence Chairman Peter Hoekstra has suspended a Democratic staff member because of concerns he may have leaked a high-level intelligence assessment to The New York Times last month.
In a letter obtained by The Associated Press Thursday night, Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., a committee member, said that an unidentified staffer requested the document from National Intelligence Director John Negroponte three days before the Sept. 23 story about its conclusions

Kwiatkowski did serve in the Pentagon prior to the war, as did I, as did approximately 23,000 others. But, Kwiatkowski was not involved in Iraq policy.
Her reminiscences fall more into the realm of fiction than fact. I worked in the Office of Special Plans (OSP), charged with some aspects of the Iraq portfolio.
My job was that of any desk officer: Writing talking points for my superiors, analyzing reports, burying myself in details, and drafting replies to frequent letters from Congressmen John Dingell and Dennis Kucinich.
I was a participant or a fly-on-the-wall at many postwar planning meetings and accompanying video teleconferences.
One person I never met was Kwiatkowski.
This should not be a surprising. Kwiatkowski was an Africa specialist who was the point woman for issues relating to Morocco. Just as I never attended meetings relating to Western Sahara, Kwiatkowski was not involved in Iraq policy sessions.
Rather than an inside scoop, Kwiatkowski provided an ideological screed.
By her own admission, she started writing Internet columns while still a Pentagon desk officer.
But, she did not know many of the people about whom she wrote. The Office of Special Plans consisted of a small number of active duty military officers, reservists, and civilians; both Democrats and Republicans.
Kwiatkowski got ranks and services wrong. In rank-conscience corridors of the Pentagon and among military officers, such things do not happen.
Thank you....amazing how this stuff is always much MORE than it seems at first.
My tagline hasn't changed in 6 months .... and never more true than these days.

Thanks RR! It's freakin' great!
Finally, yours truly, Larry Hanauer, has left the Pentagon for a one-year fellowship on Capitol Hill working for Rep. Joe Crowley, a Democrat representing Queens and the Bronx. After fleeing the Pentagon on 9/11, I spent the rest of the day holed up in the nearby Ritz-Carlton Hotel with Jay Wilkins (F88) and Mustafa Popol (F01).

HARMAN ANNOUNCES MINORITY STAFF HIRES
AT INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE
-- Says Professional Staff Will Provide High Quality Support and Capability --
Washington, DC Congresswoman Jane Harman (CA-36), Ranking Member on the House
Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today announced the addition of four professional staff
members to the Committees Minority staff.
I am very pleased that we are able to continue to select the best of the best from a pool of highly
qualified applicants, said Harman. These highly motivated professionals bring excellent skills and
diversity to the Intelligence Committee and will enable us to perform our oversight role better.
The new professional staff members are:
- Chuck Gault, a senior intelligence executive at the National Security Agency, will become the
Deputy Staff Director for the Minority. A retired Army lieutenant colonel, Gault brings major
acquisition management, congressional liaison, and program management experience.
- Christine York joins the staff from the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for
Intelligence Oversight. A former U.S. Army counterintelligence professional, York previously
worked at the Office of Intelligence Review at the Defense Department Inspector Generals
office.
- Pamela Moore joins the staff following years in tactical, operational and strategic environments
including the US Pacific Commands Intelligence Liaison to Washington, DC. Moore also
served over eight years with US Army Intelligence and is a Russian linguist.
- Larry Hanauer comes from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he consulted on a range of intelligence
issues for CIA, DIA, NGA and DHS. Previously, Hanauer spent eight years in the Office of
the Secretary of Defense, where he served as an advisor on U.S. security policy in the Middle
East, eastern Europe, and Africa. In 2002, he spent a year on Capitol Hill as a Legislative
Fellow.
Harman added, Our Membership is hands-on, and will be well served by this dynamic team of
seasoned professionals
Finally, yours truly, Larry Hanauer, married Julie Breslow, a D.C. family court judge, on April 24. After honeymooning in the Galapagos,we got a lab puppy to help settle into our new house. I am still working on homeland security and intelligence issues at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Well, he wasn't responsible for Ashcroft's Justice Department which brought us the first rash of traitorous activities, including the Plame mess.
From Stata-Sphere comments:

Mr. Hanauer, 34, is a consultant on homeland security and intelligence issues at Booz Allen Hamilton, the consulting firm in McLean, Va. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received a masters degree in international relations from Tufts. From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Hanauer was a foreign policy adviser in the office of the Secretary of Defense, working primarily on Middle Eastern and European security issues.
also,
Larry Hanauer did a stint on the staff of NY Rep Joseph Crowley, giving Hanauer a NY connection and probably press contacts with the NY Times. Crowleys official site is here. So that establishes a path to the NY news media.
I just heard on Fox News that Jonathan Turley will be representing Larry Hanauer...
OMG - this makes me hysterical- terrorists attack and there's old Larry saving lives at the bar at the Ritz Carlton!
I sure hope there's a frog march in this guy's future...hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
I bet there is more than 1
Perhaps this leak is why there has been a rise in numbers of dead...not just Americans, but Iraqis...and not just good people, but people who wouldn't have confidence to fight without hearing such a leak.
It's not hard for the thinking public to see. People are being killed because the media encourages criminals to think that they will win through lawless terror.
And why do the Western lawless want tradition and values to fail? So that they can get high and laid and abort the children that inconvenience them.
I'll bet the traitor staffer is female.... just my wild ass take .. we'll know soon enough
