The Kennedy KGB letter

So you want answers, eh? Not satisfied with the CNS report?

I’ve got answers.

There’s a new book on Ronald Reagan making the rounds, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism. Its author, Paul Kengor, unearthed a sensational document from the Soviet archives. That document is a memo regarding an offer made by Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts via former Senator John Tunney, both Democrats, to the General Secretary of the Communist Party, USSR, Yuri Andropov, in 1983. The offer was to help the Soviet leadership, military and civilian, conduct a PR campaign in the United States as President Ronald Reagan sought re-election. The goal of the PR campaign would be to cast President Reagan as a warmonger, the Soviets as willing to peacefully co-exist, and thereby turn the electorate away from Reagan. It was a plan to enlist Soviet help, and use the American press, in unseating an American president.

Think about that.

I received a review copy of The Crusader on Wednesday. The book first references the Kennedy plan on page 206, and includes the complete Soviet memo, dated May 14, 1983, in the Appendix. It’s an eye opener.

If the proposal is recognized as worthy, then Kennedy and his friends will bring about suitable steps to have representatives of the largest television companies in the USA contact Y. V. Andropov for an invitation to Moscow for the interview. Specifically, the board of directors of ABC, Elton Raul and the television columnists Walter Cronkite or Barbara Walters could visit Moscow. The senator underlined the importance that this initiative should be seen as coming from the American side.

Just, not the senator himself. Because collaborating with the leadership of a foreign state to unseat an American president, by whatever means, could be seen by Americans as treasonous. No fingerprints, that’s the rule. Who knew Reagan would win and then defeat the USSR, so this document could see the light of day? The Kennedy KGB memo runs about four pages. If there’s an honest liberal left in the country, it would be nice to have their take on this revelation.

You always knew Ted Kennedy was a Commie-loving, liberal pinko scumbag.

Now there's proof:

Kennedy was trying to arrange a televised U.S. tour for Andropov, including interviews with Walter Cronkite and Barbara Walters, as a proxy campaign against Reagan's re-election.

At HotAir, Bryan says, "If there’s an honest liberal left in the country, it would be nice to have their take on this revelation."

Honest liberal -- what a concept!

Ted left his country on the bottom of that tidal stream in his Olds Station Wagon with poor Mary Jo.

I don't consider this to be anything necessarily new. I, and others, have suspected the Democrats of undermining this nation in order to achieve and maintain political power for decades. So my questions would along these lines:

1. How many Democrat politicians in general have been in communications with foreign leaders, their intelligence agencies, their diplomats, or their news agencies, or have been leaking information to these entities, with the intent to undermine a Republican Presidency? How long has this been going on?

2. How many Democrat politicians who have been serving on United States intelligence committees have been in communications with foreign leaders, their intelligence agencies, their diplomats, or their news agencies, or have been leaking sensitive information to these entities, with the intent to undermine a Republican Presidency? How long has this been going on?

3. How many Democrats, who work for Democrat politicians, have been in communications with foreign leaders, their intelligence agencies, their diplomats, or their news agencies, or have been leaking sensitive information to these entities, with the intent to undermine a Republican Presidency? How long has this been going on?

4. How many Democrats, who are employed by the intelligence agencies, have been in communications with foreign leaders, their intelligence agencies, their diplomats, or their news agencies, or have been leaking sensitive information to these entities, with the intent to undermine a Republican Presidency? How long has this been going on?

5. How many Democrat politicians, their employees, and Democrats who work for the intelligence agencies have been leaking information to United States media, with the intent to undermine a Republican Presidency, or with the intent to have the U.S. Media covertly pass the information on to contacts in foreign governments? How long has this been going on?

6. As Doctor Raoul's post reminds me - How many Democrat politicians, their employees, democrats working for the intelligence agencies, and media employees are currently communicating with terrorist organizations in an effort to undermine a Republican Presidency? How long have you people been doing this?

An investigation and retribution is long overdue for those who have been engaging in these activities.

They need to find the letter Kennedy and Dodd sent to Osama bin Laden last month.

Is this hypothetical?

Senator Kennedy would later explain that his wife Joan did not attend the Regatta weekend because of "health reasons" ( she was pregnant )

and...

Senator Kennedy's Driver's License had Expired

- Although driving with an expired license was only a misdemeanor, it did provide the evidence of negligence needed to prove a manslaughter charge in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.

- The license problem was "fixed" by officials at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, under the direction of Registrar Richard McLaughlin, before the legal proceedings began.

Ted Kennedy had a record of serious traffic violations. Their nature formed a pattern of deliberate and repeated negligent operation.

Particularly bothersome was a June, 1958 conviction for "reckless driving."
