Mich is the surpise coming. Alot the undercides was from Republican heavry Western Michign and they just did not now who was Mike is. They starting to line up behind him now. Here is some more thanks that I think will lead to the upset in Mich.

1. Union Dems staying home. Durning the summer Jen was behind because Devos was getting some good support from them. Her campign has done a good job at turning Dick into a rich outsourcers who is trying to buy the Gov's Mansion. Problem is they still don't like Jen and might not show up forgetting about the senate race since the Gov's have been the "main event" in Mich this year.

2. High turnout in Oakland Country (Mike's home base) and Western Mich. Two republicans who hold state wide races are running for a new term and all both up big. One or not both I believe are from Western Mich and suppose to have very good GOTV. So a bottom up coattials affect.

3. Arab American voters. After 9/11 and the Iraq war they switch from Republican to Dems. But remember the 2000 race where CAIR ran the race baiting ad agisnter Spencer accuse him of allowing terriosit into the country. Debbie stumble trying to distance herself from the ad and many feel she won because of that ad. Do they either not vote or vote for Mike in numbers like before 9/11? We see.

"Mich is the surpise coming."

From your lips to God's ears. I've been seeing more Republican lawn signs than Dems, but no matter....VOTE!

We still don't know who Mike is. Part of that may be Stabenow's hiding and refusal to debate but a lot of it has to do with little other visibility from his campaign. My sister asked him at a dinner if he was campaigning harder on the other side of the state since we hear so little from or about him here and he said he hated to hear that. I have watched the last 2 presidential elections tighten here (with far more investment and organization than I see in this race) and Posthumus tightened the race in the closing days against Granholm, but the Republicans always come up short. I hope like heck you are right about this one.

You forgot to mention that the economy here is bleeding jobs everyday, we have a 7.1 unemployment rate and the commericals done by Jeff Daniels isn't going to change that fact for someone who has lost their job or thinks they are going to lose their job.

And I don't think that the Union Dems will stay home- a lot of them will vote Republican. They aren't going to come out and admit it to the union bosses, but different people have told me that inside their plant a lot of people they know are voting Republican this year.

Also, you have to win 2 of the 3 counties in the Metro Detroit area, if you are going to win statewide. So, there has to be high turnout for R's in in Macomb and Wayne as well, so we can hit 2 out of 3.

DeVos is from West MI and Bouchard is from Oakland County.
