Which Will Fall First: Baghdad or Washington, D. C.?

These are perilous times, to say the least. America’s war on terror in Iraq is not going well, and even President Bush has admitted that it could end up like Vietnam.

Our way of life and freedoms are under attack from sworn enemies like Osama bin Laden, Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Hugo Chavez.

Although the lunatic in charge of North Korea is reportedly “sorry” for his nuclear test theatrics, one suspects that the madman’s repentance is due solely to severe arm twisting by his Chinese sponsors. Only the day before yesterday, Il was warning the world that more nuclear tests were in the offing.

Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continues to threaten Israel, his latest declaration being that Israel cannot survive. This particular nutcase remains adamant that Iran will pursue nuclear enrichment--for peaceful generation of electricity only, of course.

To make matters even less cheery, the Shiite militia run by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr seized total control of the southern Iraqi city of Amarah. Go here: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061020/D8KSANO80.html

But the worse news about the war on terror comes from our own shores. Liberals like John Kerry, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Howard Dean, and other leftwingers continue to provide comfort to the enemy by attacking our troops, the war effort itself, and President Bush.

With recent polls showing the Democrats in a position to do real damage during the November 7 elections, a reasonable question might be:

Which city will fall into enemy hands first--Baghdad or Washington, D.C.?

Looks like Baghdad has already fallen, but maybe we'd be better off if DC would fall.

Hang on until after the election - the insurgents (Iran & Syria) are tripling their efforts to disrupt all processes towards freedom in the ME, the media here and in Iraq are doing the same - this was to be expected. The terrorists want the weaker party (Democrats) in America to win so coupled with the millions of Soros dollars aimed at undermining America, the problem is escalating.

Having been to both cities, I can honestly say that neither will be missed.

More absurd nonsense from the Know Nothings. A. Bush never said what they claim. He compared HOW the News Media coverage of Iraq is like it's coverage of the Tet offensive in Veitnam. Then, the argument that Bagdad has fallen demonstrates a clear inability by this author to find out ONE single fact about Iraq.

Below are the links for the facts on Iraq. It is not a mess or a quagmiere or a disaster. It is a war. A war we are well on our way to winning.

Welcome American Leftist to the messy reality that War does not work like a Rambo Movie.

Here is the problem the American Conservative movement has from a PR Standpoint. They accept the terms of the debate imposed on them by the Leftists. The Leftists make wacko charge after wacko charge then we turn and argue with them from their absurd framework. We try to argue that well it only a little mess, or it a mess but we can fix it or it;s a mess but it would be worse if we leave.

Instead let us speak truth to whiners and point out to the Leftists why their accusations and assumptions about Iraq are absurd nonsense.

President Bush ever said it. More hyper hysteric nonsense from the drama queen media. He compared how the "News" coverage of Iraq is similar to the whollying inept covereage of teh Tet offensive in Veitnam was by the same "News" media.

Can we insist they take both? The idea of Senator Pelosi and company living under sharia amuses me greatly.

Sure, as long as we get the 4 million private citizens who have nothing to do with the current state of government (including my better half) out of there first.

Looks like Baghdad has already fallen,

Don't give up on it just yet. People are moaning about this being one of the deadliest months ever for Americans, but we can sustain this tempo for months or years - I would be surprised if we've lost more than 10 or 12 in a single day. We are nowhere near the level of Vietnam (of course, we as a country are softer than we were during Vietnam).

For every one of our guys the enemy gets, we are probably getting at least five or six. I don't think they can sustain that, and I don't think the Iraqi people will continue to be complacent. The fact that Iraqis continue to volunteer for police and national guard units, even in the face of many volunteers being murdered by one side or another, speaks volumes about this.

" Which city will fall into enemy hands first--Baghdad or Washington, D.C.?"

How far we have fallen. Can anyone who is over 50 years old even imagine that question being asked in the 1950s?

You see our friends and of course our enemies both pay real attention to the politics in the U.S.

There are a few things in your list that it might be best not to present as a "good thing" if you want conservatives to agree with you.
