Garamendi is a bastard. Just had the Al Gore sigh, snarking jabs at Tom, playing with his pen, looking around... he's very disrespectful.

I never liked him and now I hate him. I hope Tom wins in a landslide.

Garamendi is a bastard.

Every smirk and snort and snarky jab
made it that much clearer that everything Tom said is RIGHT ON.

You beat me to it, He kept doing the Gore Sighs everytime Tom Hammered him. " Tom if you bothered to read" then Tom quotes him during an earlier debate and hands him a printout off his website, Garamendi say he takes them out of context!

No. If you don't want to watch the complete videos, the SF Chronicle selected some excerpts from each to watch. You can access them all from this page. Here is an excerpt of McClintock's closing statement yesterday (courtesy of the "ccg transcribing service":
. . . I think that this debate has brought into sharp focus the difference between our approaches to these basic fundamental questions of how much we are putting into Government and how little we are getting back from it. I believe that government is taxing too much and is spending what it taxes unwisely. I also believe we could be producing the California that once was if we make these basic and fundamental changes in the way the state is doing business. . . .

A generation ago, this really was the land of opportunity; the golden state where families could come looking for a better future. What has changed is a massive increase in spending, bureaucracy and regulations that has choked off our economy and is now producing for the second time in the state's history a net out-migration of Californians. The population continues to grow, but that is all either indigenous population growth or foreign immigration growth, most of that illegal. More Californians are leaving California than are coming in and they are finding better futures out in the middle of the Nevada and Arizona deserts than they found here in this beautiful garden of our continent. Now, I can conceive of no act of god that could possible wreak such havoc upon California to make it less desirable than the middle of the Nevada nuclear test range. Only acts of government could do that and we have. The good news is, that's something we can fix. We are always one election away from being able to change those policies. I believe that this is that election. . . .

"Garamendi's tone was a huge turnoff--Garamendi is really a pompous condescending ass!"

Finally figured out who Garamendi reminds me of -- the Great Bloviator, Alec Baldwin. Even looks a little like him. Same nose-in-the-air superior attitude with so very, very little to be superior about.

Check out the quotes that the Chron reported.
They made Garamendi sound almost as sleazy as he was!

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2006/10/24/BAG4VLUPV71.DTL&type=politics

Garamendi called the far more conservative McClintock someone who would rather say "no, no, no, the world has got to change,'' than work with Democrats and other Republicans to solve problems.

"If you only knew what you were talking about instead of just the rhetoric of it,'' McClintock would have a better grasp of how government actually worked, Garamendi told his opponent.

McClintock fired back with accusations that Garamendi favors more taxes, increased government regulation and a single-payer, state-run health care system "that could bankrupt California.''

"We all know intuitively that putting the people who run the (Department of Motor Vehicles) in charge of health care is not a good idea,'' said McClintock . . .

(snip)

. . . Garamendi's [suggested] that McClintock was guilty of "political hypocrisy'' for not supporting Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger more often. "The reality is, you're not a team,'' the insurance commissioner said. "You're in opposition to almost everything the governor wants to do.''

"Being a team player doesn't mean being in lockstep on every issue,'' McClintock shot back. "We have our disagreements, but our areas of agreement are far greater.''

Time after time, Garamendi . . . suggested he would do a better job working with a re-elected Schwarzenegger and other Republicans than McClintock. . . . "I'm talking about the necessity of reaching across the aisle and finding the common good,'' Garamendi said.

(snip)

Garamendi is "utterly devoid of credibility" on the Executive Life case, McClintock said, quoting a federal judge's statement last year in a fraud case connected with the insurance company case.

. . . "What can I say but, 'If only you understood, Tom,' '' Garamendi said.

The election for lieutenant governor features two experienced politicians who want to use the office to drive the public policy debate, McClintock said. "The question is where you want to drive it.''

From what I've seen, he's actually far sleazier.
