I am sorry that anyone would stoop so low as to support demon-crats but that is their right.......
MJ was on tv several months ago, and being a trained eye, one could tell right away that he has been greatly affected by this Parkinsons....shockingly so.....
besides stem cell research though.....there's other avenues of treatment with promise......DBS for one........)deep brain stimulation)
Also, FWIW... a caller to Rush's show on Tuesday (who sounded sincere) said that he is an employee of an airline that sometimes flies to Canada. He said he recently met Michael J. Fox - saw him "up close"... said he looked and acted "great". Nothing like what you see in the commercial...
Micahael J. Fox admitted in his book that he did it before, when he appeared before the Senate.
Do you know if it possible to get a DVD of this presentation from EWTN and would it be appropriate for discussion among Catholic middle school students?
These children are mature by most standards.
There's been at least two episodes after that one that he's been on the show.
He was on the end of last season and I think two of this current season.
He recurrs on "Boston Legal"
He was on "for the full hour" with Fr. Francis on Life on The Rock. The show was taped & played a couple of months ago, but it will be re-shown this Thursday & again this Sunday. It is great to hear him talk so enthusiastically about being Catholic. Suppan is also a board member on Catholic Athletes for Christ.
Catholic churches in MO were required to show a video produced by the Bishop about this stem cell vote.
Problem is, Catholics are the minority in this state. There's a Baptist church on every corner though.
Yes you can.
Check out: EWTN's website for Life on The Rock
Wow... I've learned a lot tonight... Never heard of this group. Thanks for that information.
I've never seen "Life on The Rock", but I'll make a note to myself to tune in (or tape) that show on Thursday or Sunday. Suppan sounds like a really good guy...
My father had advanced Parkinson's Disease. So, I am very sympathetic to the manifestations of this disorder.
Toward the end the medication seemed totally unpredictable. We couldn't tell what it was going to do, but obviously things were better if he was on some or any kind of meds.
My father probably would have done anything to get relief from this affliction; even considering fetal tissue transplants, an idea that I found grotesque at the time,...even more so now. He was not deemed a suitable candidate.
He underwent a procedure called pallidotomy, which was touted as a miraculous cure for Parkinsonisonism. While regarded as a success following the procedure - by the surgeons that were heavily compensated for the surgery - no significant improvement was gained through the operation by my father. This was 1997. We were told that this would be the brave cure for the future of Parkinson's patients. My brother and I always felt that this was simply a sham.
I believe that Fox understands all of the nuances of the research in this field and he either desperately wants to believe what he believes, or he is willfully lying about it.
What universe do you live in?
The race has been dead even for months. Last poll had Talent up by 3%.
You bet Fox knew what he was doing. Even if he was not sick he's still a flaming liberal. I have known two people who had Parkinson's Disease and one of them died from it, but I never saw either one of them jerk around like Fox was doing. He was on Boston Legal right before this ad aired and he didn't shake that bad. I'm one of the ones who thinks he was adding to it so that it would make him appear sicker than he is, and to make President Bush look more evil for not signing it the legislation.
I agree. See my post #22...
Just had to give you a (((Hug)))
There is an awful lot to learn. The Dems have gone for this path because it automatically puts conservatives in a bad space - they have to defend their position, which requires more intellectual energy than most liberally minded folk are willing to put forth. The message comes through as; GOP against a cure for Parkinson's disease.
I understand that Fox has/had an ad coming out in Maryland to undercut Michael Steele. Who is a devout Catholic and is opposed to "embryonic" stem cell research, not all research in stem cells and cord blood. Just those that destroy human life in the embryonic stage.
Any candidate that has to explain basic biology and complex bio-ethics issues to the electorate is automatically taken off message.
Cheap tricks and obfuscation from the party that can't find a real message.
I will definitely watch Life on the Rock this Thursday. Thanks again for all the information regarding Suppan and the other athletes and EWTN. I really had no idea... :o)
Thanks! I should be able to have some of the EWTN folks get this on tape.
Excellent post in #37, Joe. You said it better than I could...
