Have you seen the Other Iraq?
It's spectacular.
It's peaceful.
Welcome to Iraqi Kurdistan. Where democracy has been practiced for over a decade.
It's not a dream.
It's the other Iraq.
The people of Iraqi-Kurdistan invite you to discover their peaceful region, a place that has practiced democracy for over a decade, a place where the universities, markets, cafes and fair grounds buzz with progress and prosperity and where the people are already sowing the seeds of a brighter future.

US investors cautious on Kurdistan
The first of the first 3 ads, "Thank you" is awesome!
This sort of positive vision of what Iraq could become (hmmm...kind of like the eternal optimism of Ronald Reagan) would encourage American to maintain their resolve to finish the job.
It is too bad this can't receive more play...it really would change minds on Iraq.
TXGR - in Baghdad
I've seen it several times - it's a great ad. But I've only seen it on FOX.
There are also some longer, 10 minute videos, that give the history of the Kurds, their relationship with the West, and the investment opportunity there.
Personally, given the huge untapped oil reserves there, I plan on putting some money in a Kurdish bank for investment in other companies. Even if the currency ends up being exchanged for something else, the money in the Kurdish bank will be translated to Kurdish currency, with the backing of these oil reserves.
Do youself a favor, see the "thank you ad" and watch the "who are the Kurds?" video.
I'm glad to see the Kurds doing so well. I pray for their continued success....
...but I'm afraid the US may double-cross their attempts for self-government in order to appease Turkey & our other Muslim "allies". Think "Bay Of Pigs".....
Hope I'm wrong...
Well, I've only seen it online (since I am in Iraq). According to the article on Stars & Stripes, it is only running on certain cable shows.
That is a shame...everybody should see it. They don't have a lot of money, so I guess they are targeting an audience that is already likely to respond with investment dollars.
Did any of the shows (O'Reilly, Hannity, Rush) talk about it?
We don't get any commercials here...so I've never seen it "on tv".
I hope that we don't betry them either...like you, I share the fear that the US just doesn't have the stamina or political will to do the right thing and see a job through until it is done.
In the "who are the Kurds?" video, they specifically talk about how many times they were promised autonomy, self-rule, or outright independence; only to be betrayed every single time.
After the gassings, I get the distinct impression that, like the Israeli's, world-opinion be damned, they will never let that occur again - they will go down fighting to protect their kith and kin.
Too bad about the US, if we fail here, every country for 100 years will have our number - it only reinforces the "lessons" from Vietnam and Somalia - 'make them bleed slowly, and they will loose the will to resist'.
Our failure to prove our resolve here condemns us to being seen as little different from the UN: paper warnings and an old toothless tiger, scared of his own shadow.
Kinda like pork, the other white meat.
I think so, it's been run on Fox News several times. When it first came out, I believe Sean Hannity talked about it. When I first saw it, I wanted to cry just thinking about what an ad like that would mean to our soldiers and their families. Your're right - it's a shame it's not being shown all over. Stay safe!
