I guess I haven't learned my Muslim holidays completely yet, but knew (depending on Sunni or Shiite, of course) it was either Sunday or Monday. Or Tuesday. But 'cresent' versus 'new' huh?

Um...late comers get no punch? Howard Dean is so obviously courting a specific vote here it is pathetic.

I have read (and been told by Muslim friends) that the Muslim months always begin with the first sliver of a crescent moon, instead of a new moon. Eid begins on the first day of the month after Ramadan.
