If someone could get the video of the Arlen Specter Ad, I think it aired on Olborman show. Michael Fox is very calm and not smearing Arlen's opponent with lies about his position.

Here's a link to a page with a synopsis of the ad:

Ad Details Currently, half of Specter's television campaign ads focus on stem cell research, according to the Inquirer. One ad running throughout Pennsylvania features stem cell research advocate and actor Michael J. Fox praising Specter for his support of stem cell research and his role in doubling NIH funding for biomedical research. A second ad, which is being broadcast in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia regions, features a child whose illness was treated using stem cells obtained from umbilical cord blood, according to the Inquirer. However, neither ad discusses embryonic stem cell research -- the "most controversial" form of stem cell research -- even though Specter publicly has urged Bush to expand his policy, according to the Inquirer. Specter, when asked why he is "pushing" the issue, said, "Believe it or not, every now and then, decisions are made on principle, not on counting votes."

So when is MJF going to realize that the Parkinsons medications, that he doesn't always take, have done, and will continue to do, way more than embryonic stem cell research will ever do?

For what it's worth, there's absolutely nothing to gain politically from piling on to Michael J. Fox.
The old ladies love him.

This is not smart politics. Sorry. The rats want us to attack Michael J. Fox. This is a dangerous trap.

Great research. The GOP needs to go after MJF even harder now for his seemingly inconsistent statements on commercials on the very same issue.

Michael Fox barely twitched in his support ad for Arlen Specter. Nary a sway or flopping around to be seen. Funny that, when compared to Missouri AD. Kind of puts the lie to the matter, doesn't it.

There is nothing to gain because the man has Parkinson's. That a definite. Judging one person's symptoms from day to day, especially from year to year is fruitless.

His meds can cause involuntary movement, just as easily as they can calm his tremors.

This issue can't get anybody anywhere, except the scorn of others who are ill themselves and know that conditions deteriorate over time.

Lay off the messenger...attack the message.

Bull! This is exactly what Ann Coulter was talking about when she commented on the Jersey girls. The Dems drag these people out and you cannot comment on them because they have a Parkinson's, they lost a loved one on 9/11, the lost a son in the war, blah, blah, blah. Again I say bull! Like Rush said, once you insert yourself into the political process, you are fair game. MJF has admitted to going off his meds to convey sympathy. He has admitted his guilt in manipulatioin of the voters. His behavior is fair game to question and comment on.

I have MS. If you look at a video of me from 4 years ago, compared to a video of me today...you'll see a difference.

I am NOT "off my meds"...that is just the nature of progressive neurological diseases.

By attacking MJF with the "off his meds" verbage (which no one can prove), it seems as though the conservatives are "ignorant" of the disease process and the effect of the meds that are taken for it (as I said before, his meds can and do cause the same type of movements seen in the commercial.)

So he admitted that once he didn't take them...that's not going to hold water unless someone gets him to admit he didn't take them in this case.

I just think attacking the man is akin to the Dems making fun of Rush when he lost his hearing and blaming it on his Vicodin use (hearing loss can be a side effect of overuse of that drug.) It just should be avoided at all cost. Attack the message...that should suffice.

It's not wise to "judge" another's state of illness.

This is a link to a May 06 interview with K. Couric. He openly talks about how his medication does control his symptoms and how he has to plan for interviews so that his tics will be under control.

In this interview he still is moving quite a bit, but no where near as much as in his ad for McCaskill

Ummm no. It's a degenerative disease. The Arlen ad is from over 2 years ago. It doesn't prove anything, but I could I guess show you pictures of me at 18 which will prove that the weight gain since then is false using your logic.

I have very little regard for Dick Morris but he said yesterday that voters know when they are being manipulated and that this will fire on the Dems.
