I watched a documentary, on HBO called "Mr Conservative: Barry Goldwater last night.

I have posted this on several threads. Webb wrote a book called "Born Fighting" which is a non-fiction book about the Scots-Irish heritage in America. I read this book several months ago. I found it very odd that in that work of non-fiction, to make a point, he cites
himself (via a character in one of his novels). At the time, I thought it a bit weird and egotistical, but I had no idea what was in the novels at that time.
Now, I think the man is a disgusting nutjob.

I read a lot of war novels for which this sort of thing is relatively par for the course--but in the light of the Foley scandal--it does raise questions doesn't it?

I watched a documentary, on HBO called "Mr Conservative: Barry Goldwater last night. I saw that a few weeks ago; in general it was very good, although Barry's relation to his wife and kids was generally better (at least as I recall the way the enjoyed each other's company at the time). Barry and Nixon didn't like each other, but it was partly a cultural thing--Barry was pure Western and regarded Nixon as something of a creature of Eisenhower (even though he was from CA)...

Vast majority of Muslims are no problem at all.
Its an underreported fact that two of the bombs on 7/7 went off in two areas populated by Weternised, Muslim business owners (Aldgate and Edgware Road). I can't believe that was an accident.
BUT, there is the Finsbury Park Mosque and other radical enclaves that most certainly are a problem.
And people over here don't want to deal with that.
To give you some idea of how out-to-lunch the Moonbat community is over here, I'll relate this story to you.
In (I think 2003) armed police raided the FP Mosque in the middle of the night and found nothing beyond a few pamphlets.
This disturbed me because 1) armed agents of the state are invading private property and 2) our intelligence could obviously be better.
What do you think the lefties here were concerned about?
