Trouble in Cloutville(Another drive by media piece of a "GOP" voter not voting GOP)
Buffalo News ^ | October 29, 2006 | Jerry Zremski

Posted on 10/29/2006 3:47:12 PM PST by Dane

The morning after President Bush declared Western New York a disaster area, Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds noted that he had pressed his case for federal aid with White House political guru Karl Rove.

Of course, for Reynolds, such a conversation is nothing unusual.

"I probably talk to Karl Rove two or three times a day," boasted Reynolds, a Clarence Republican.

Unfortunately for Reynolds, thrice-daily discussions with the man nicknamed "Bush's Brain" don't impress voters like Robert P. Johnson of Williamsville.

"Karl Rove is the protector of the party line, not of America," said Johnson, a lawyer and a registered Democrat who has voted for Reynolds in the past but won't this year.

Johnson said he was fed up with the Republican Congress, the polarized politics of the Bush era and Reynolds himself. Johnson calls him "part of that power structure."

Pushing himself to the top of the Republican power structure has been Reynolds' way since he was elected to Congress in 1998.

Well the Buffalo News couldn't find a real GOP voter, but miracuously find a democrat lawyer who votes GOP.

LOL! Hey Buffalo News, how stupid do you think we are out here in flyover country.

JMO, I think the media knows that nancy pelosi is not going to have her coronation, but till the bitter end will try to make that coronation happen.

They only found ONE? What slackards they are.

DU has one every day.....................the story usually begins with......."I ran into a friend who I hadn't seen since last election. He was a BIG Bush supporter back then. He pulled me aside yesterday and confided in me that he is so mad a the repubicans that he will NEVER, EVER vote .............."

"said Johnson, a lawyer and a registered Democrat "

Fascinating what strange, unusual and unexpected finds they come up with: A Democrat voting for the, uh, er, Democrats.
In other news, they expect snow in Buffalo this winter.

The real Democrat agenda:

I know I see a thread like that every day when I take a peek over at the DUmpster to what the DUmpster Divers are saying.

They are so transparent and not very good liars.

I think that sites such as this one help to counteract the DBM. While this stuff might normally prove demoralizing, we're the ones that remind our family friends that it's all BS on the part of the DBM. I think our contribution here might be more important than even we realize.

Drive-by media setting up the old football for Charlie again.

But I gotta wonder - who would boast that they call Mr. Rove three times a day? I mean, if someone calls me three times a day, there had better be a wedding ring involved. Those types of claims always peg my BS meter.

Exactly... I had a friend, who told me his nephew, who was a Big Bush supporter in 2000, changed his mind because _____ (fill in the blank). Anecdotal evidence can be found anywhere; they spin it as "typical", and bang! Republicans are doomed. That's the script.

Will never forget in 2004 when my mom's friend from college was profiled by the NYT as a Bush voter in 2000 who was going to vote for Kerry in 2004. Problem was, that she was not a Bush voter in 2000 and she was undecided (in MArch) about 2004. According to her, the reporter asked her if she ever votes for Republicans (she does) and if she was going to vote for Bush in November (she was undecided).

You know what's even funnier about this Buffalo News article.

That the Buffalo News doesn't seem to know the classic joke of, "How do you know a lawyer is lying? His lips are moving."

And what does the Buffalo News do, they interview a democrat lawyer, who says he votes GOP.

Two minutes at DU, and I came across this:

"Suffice it to say, this bunch of troops were as pissed as we all are at the Chimp-in-Chief. So after a good 45 minutes of conversation, I asked them if they had any political affiliation.

"Well, I'm a Republican, about half of us are Democrats, half Republicans, but I can guaran-goddamn-tee you that not one of us is voting for a Republican this time around!"

I smiled. He smiled. I ordered another round of shots. We kept talking, about things...................."

The DUmmies delude themselves with their lies, kinda of like drive by media. PJ-Comix chronicles their rubber room antics, with his continual "DUmmie Funnies" threads below.

You can also get on PJ's DUmmie Funnies ping list to get your nearly daily thread of the insanity from the DUmpster.

a couple of weeks ago, a friend I know said a correspondent from NPR was coming out to Missouri, and wanted to interview a Pubbie who was now going to vote Dem because of Iraq.

I told him I didn't know any true GOP'er who would do that. I'm sure they kept looking...

As Rush says, the story is already written, they simply seek the anecdotal person who fits the action line.

Johnson said he was fed up with the Republican Congress, the polarized politics of the Bush era and Reynolds himself. Johnson calls him "part of that power structure."

Let me guess. Then Johnson put a flower in his hair and said; "I'm going to San Francisco, there are some gentle people there."

The Buffalo News is where Tom Toles the cartoonist got his start--he used to be clever sometimes before his case of BDS (Bush derangement syndrome) became so severe.
