I guess the Guardian has its own peculiar standards for what "authoritative" means.

Al Gore pointed in the right direction by stating that smoking is a major threat to global warming.
In this global warming category threat the U.S. is way ahead of the U.K.
Time to get on the bandwagon over there to stem this by Al Gore revealed major warming threat.

This is all about imposing "carbon tax" on the individual.

They want to tax people for breathing.

If you use a no 2 pencil you will be issued a grafite tax for each scan card you fill in.

If you eat beans, you will have a flatulance tax.

Of course this could democrats in election year, they will be hit with the hot air tax.

This is so funny, I cannot stop laughing.
This is the same Al Gore that flies everywhere he goes in a Gulfstream jet, that is rarely filled up, and then gets into a Limo and a caravan with all his bodyguards.

The man deserves the title of World's Biggest Hypocrite!!!!!

In Algore's case that would be "the available vacuum."

Yes, the U.K would hire Gore- they see the 'global warming' farce as a huge cash cow- the golden goose that just keeps on giving- they're implementing housing fines for homeowners who don't get their houses up to 'global warming' codes. Al Gore is going to be kachinking his way all the way to the bank & so is the U.K-

Britain is to send the author of today's landmark review on global warming to try to win American hearts and minds to the urgent cause of cutting carbon emissions - as it emerged yesterday that the government has already signed up former US vice-president Al Gore to advise on the environment.

Yes Al gore! The same man that got Amnesia by drinking too much ice tea while taking bribes from Buddist monks! Hey Al, talk to the people in the US once you fly to the UK in your solar powered Lear Jet!

"Our country is the most environmentally friendly in the world in terms of population. So if humans are causing global warming, go blame China."

Very good! Most people are not aware enough of what an ecological catastrophe that China is. Rivers and streams filled with mercury and high enough concentrations of sulfuric acid to dissolve skin. Smoke and smog toxic enough to kill after two to three years of constant exposure. China has put out more pollution in the past 20 years than the U.S. has in its entire history. U.S. pollution rates have steadily declined for decades. China's pollution rate is steadily doubling every 15 years and is already off the upper end of the scale compared to the U.S.

I think the Democratic Party should make these climate-change tax increases an official part of their platform. Such a bold gesture will win lots of voters.

The major contributor is the thinning of forests and reduction of planetary greenery.

I doubt this is accurate. Where did you read this?

ping (There are multiple threads on this topic; I'm going to try and post one on the actual report, rather than Gore's involvement)

Great question.

I want to see his off shore accounts to see how much the Opecker Princes and thugs are contributing to him.

They love all the time and money spent on these schemes rather than us drilling for more oil off our coasts, in Alaska and working to convert our coal to gasoline and diesel.
