On Feb 19, 1971 a large portion of the MS Delta
was destroyed by tornadoes. It is a good chance Tchula
was one of them.

Tchula MS was founded by Jews I believe. In fact many of it's black residents have Jewish sir names but are not Jewish.
Tchula is also home to Saul Haymond, Sr., a sharecropper who won a Guggenheim Fellowship for his primitive painting in 1995. His work is beautiful. I believe he still is a sharecropper.
