Skip to comments.CA: Chico Rally After Action Report and Photos!
Posted on 10/30/2006 3:57:57 PM PST by Jim Robinson
We had a great time at the rally and dinner Saturday in Chico!! And I think the people there were glad to see us too! I'm sure it gets tiresome to see the left out protesting week after week. Thank God we have Son of SoldierDad out supporting our troops every week, but it's hard doing it all alone. Lots of people honked, waved or gave us a thumbs up as they motored past and we had lots of pedestrians stop to thank us and talk to us too. One family even stopped and held signs and flags for a half our or so. Hoping maybe some of the Chico residents will start joining Son of SoldierDad in his lonely weekly support our troops vigil.
We really enjoyed meeting SoldierDad and family and it was an honor to stand with them in support of their soldier son and brother in Iraq and our troops! May God Bless and protect them all. We are so grateful for their service for our country and for our freedom.

Thanks to all of you, again.
Good work, Jim & co. Hope you had a chance to tip back some of Chico's finest; Sierra Nevada ale!
Outstanding Jim... that Megan is some cutie, she'll grow up to be a fine patriotic young lady...
Thanks for all you do for us, you build up our great nation.
P.S. How can I get an FR t-shirt?
Thanks to you all, especially young FReeper Megan.
My daughter, second left, more photos here
Thank you, AliVeritas. She is a real sweetheart. You might check with Syncro on those shirts. He may have one or two left.
Woo hoo! Awesome!!
Great work you Freepers.
Great pictures. Wish I could have been there.
You guys looked great.
Nice work, Freepers!
Thanks for the ping and the photos. That's some first-rate FReepin' right there!
You and I may have some disagreement on the nuances of advancing the conservative agenda but I have absolute respect for your dedication to honoring the sacrifice of those in our uniformed services.
When I viewed the photo of you sitting on the street corner, slugging it out in relative obscurity, I though of my father, who risked his life in similar obsurity, not for fame or fortune, but because he understood it was right and necessary to preserve the freedom he enjoyed.
Thank you for reminding me.
Great Job y'all! Does my heart good to read these Rally and After Action Reports.
Thank You for bein' there.
Great pix, Jim. Thanks for posting these on FR. I'll share with Rick and the rest the next time I'm at home. Oh, and thanks for not posting the one pix of me stuffing my face with food ;} (I think Ruth took that one).
Thanks to all of you who've made these really great comments regarding out little rally. I hope to put another one together in the future.
Really wonderful pics guys. Keep up the good work.
Ok, great! Please let us know when. Chris fell in love with Chico and I know he'll want to bring us up there again.
Two of my favorites here...
That look on your Soldier Son's face just screams "DIE TERRORISTS!"
That may well be, but us folks sitting amidships on the USS California still see water rising in our port side holds while the captain is constantly assuring us that this great ship of state can handle the list.
Right now what concerns me is the number of life boats available should the California founder. Each night I watch these small boats disappears away from our starboard side, carrying the captain's benefactors, loaded to their gunnels with tax revenue or bonding proceeds.
Oops, meant to say "you and" some of your family...
Don't worry, Snycro. I knew what you meant. My wife and I really enjoyed meeting you and all those who participated in this rally. I look forward to getting together with all of you and more FReepers soon.
First step is to torpedo the Democrats before they torpedo us. Then we can do damage control.
Thank you for the great pics and all of your efforts.
Begging your pardon sir, but how will the boat hit the target if we keep veering to port? Should I aim further left?
Dammit man. You can't miss the target. We're surrounded by the filthy buggers. Vote "R" in all races. We're bound to knock out some of them.
NSRD. They're everywhere.
Aye, aye skipper!
Logan's Roadhouse, one of my more pleasant memories of visits to Chicoville. Got to give y'all credit, there are some very rabid Lefties in that neck of the woods. Good place to make a stand.
Hi Kathy. Just thought you might appreciate some pictures of my family and our little Support The Troops Rally we had last Saturday. You'll see my granddaughter here.
Thought you'd like to check out some pix from our Support the Troops Rally in Chico on Saturday. You can see Megan in a couple of shots.
Thanks for the pics and thread boss!
What a great lookin' bunch!
Thank you all so very much for supporting out Troops!
Here, check out these pics of my granddaughter and family.
AAAAAAAAAWwwwwwwwwwwwww.......she IS precious!!!
Fine! I give. She's The Cutest GrandDAUGHTER ever born! :-)

Chico native bump
I'm sure yours is every bit as cute as mine.
Yabut. He's a boy and if he knew I refer to him as Cute.............EEEEEEEEK!
Hi cybercowboy777. Glad to hear from you. I'm not a Chico native, but a transplant from circa 1964. My father was in the USAF, and we moved around a lot.
Boy, am I BUMMED. Been around FR since '98. Don't post much but I am a serious lurker and I never saw anything about this rally or I'd have been there. I'm here in Chico so ping me or freepmail me if you have any more get togethers. BUMMER
We will most certainly give you a ping for the next one. FYI, my son stands on that corner almost every Saturday from around 12:00 noon to around 3:00pm. If you have a free Saturday please feel free to stop by and say hi, or even join him.
Will do and thanks
I missed the boat on this one. I live within an hours drive and I would have been there if I had known about it.
Use this next time there is anything planned in Chico.
I was born in Chico @ Enloe Hospital.
Then we moved around a lot (My dad was in the USN).
After 12 years in the Navy, we moved back to Chico and then to Durham. Live there 6 years and then move to Washington.
My grandparents still lve in Durham and own rentals in Chico.
